    PPF E30 S38 Turbo

Some of you may know about PPF and some may not, but they are the premier BMW Turbo guys in Europe (Sweden to be exact). Many of the intake manifolds you see being used on turbo BMWs are copies of PPF's original design.

Here is a monster E30 with an S38 swap from an E34 M5 and a giant turbo.

Ok, compare the S38 turbo to the S50/52? Does the larger displacement make it a better option you think?

That motor is ridiculous! That entire car is just... wow.

That would be a resounding yes. I love turbos, but there truly is no replacement for displacement, and the more liters you have, the quicker your turbo spools.

The USDM E34 M5 came with the 3.6-liter S38(B36), but just imagine the EDM 3.8-liter S38(B38). That's almost 4.0-liters, and that will spool even the beefiest turbos!

Can't the S38 go to 4.2 liters or so?

I wouldn't be surprised, but sometimes you lose revs when you add stroke, so in that case, 3.6-liters suits me just fine so I can wind out the tach a bit more!

Man I wish I could find pics of the PPF intake manifold - it's a work of art! Methinks HPF found their "inspiration" from it.

I love Andreas' turbo systems and built motors. The s38 has been my dream engine and i wanted to put one in my car but without any experience using that engine the risk is very great and can be very expensive.

This car is really something special. He ran about 9.55 on pump I believe. I haven't heard a thing since then. I thought he would have gone quicker by now with race fuel.
