Well Adam, thank you very much for making my day! I have spent a lot of my day absorbing all of the info. I'm in a completely different build but a lot of things that pertain to the FI system were good to learn about. I will be keeping tabs on this thread for any future updates for sure!

    Thanks!

FYI, Dan is one of the few people to have seen the 330Ci (Black car) in person.

You don't need ITB's when boosted.

Certainly did some learning (and some drooling) any, and every time I was able to visit you in the shop Adam. That car was intense!

I was about to say that the nitrous system was intense, then other things started to come to mind that were also very intense so couldn't pick just one aspect of that build.

It certainly was a lot of fun....but I never got to finish all of the ideas I had for that project. This car (Silver 330i) is in many areas even more extreme; an evolution of what I started with the black car.

I don't have any problem believing that this project is in many ways more extreme! It's extreme in that you plan on it having proper street manners as well as being an electronically controlled auto transmission which adds a whole other aspect to tuning. I'm sure it is far more intelligent then the transmissions I've checked out for diesel trucks but the same still applies in that proper tuning can make or break the auto trans. Not hard to tell you have learned a lot with the black car.

I'm really glad I got to read this thread. Lots of the things you do pertain to any project or build, but the one thing that sticks out the most for me is the fact that Garrett actually suggests a 20 degree angle on the center section as I'm in the process of installing a GTX3071R on my little project, so that was great to know!

Hopefully we're both on the island at the same time sometime this summer and I'll get to check out your grocery getter first hand. Maybe even see it run up the track!

I bought one in May....but there have been some delays with the order. (Some parts are on backorder)

The master plan is to run the SQ6, Motec dash, and a Motec PDM.

    Wow, such kind words!

The SQ6 is one of the best ECUs in the market. Unfortunately, we've had some challenges with them lately. Cosworth owns Pectel and recently was put themselves up for sale. I've been told that this move was forced upon them by their creditors. Did everyone here know Brad from Evosport is now the VP of Cosworth, USA?

Rest assured that no matter what happens with vendors, our customers are always a priority and we take care of them. Either we will have a good, reliable supply of SQ6's or an equivalent ECU. AEM has been very proactive with us in developing their new product, and they hired both Tyler Hara from Cosworth & Paul St. Claire from Nissan Motorsports - two of the most solid people I've had the opportunity to work with. That alone has me excited about them.

Thanks again for all the kinds words, we're looking forward to making this project a success!

    Thanks for the update Neel.

As I've mentioned before, I'm not stressed about the situation at all...and I know that I'll be taken care of however things work out with Cosworth.

    Wow...what a grocery getter! Lol.

Thanks for the time you take to document everything. Definitely taking some notes here. I think I'll be building up my own spare engine due to all of the issues that I am having with my "engine builder". It feels like it could blow up at any time!

    Thanks

If you are having second thoughts while the engine is being built, you will have second thoughts every time you start the car. Not a good feeling.

It's always good to take some time to step back and figure out what makes you comfortable. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
