APR E85 Z4 carbon GT300 wing and front splitter - large downforce

This is a APR wing and splitter that was installed by Speedware Motorsports. The wing and splitter are built with track functionality in mind, not looks. For those that like to track this seems to be a good option:

I have that splitter on my car now. After two track days with it on, I can tell you that it helps out, A LOT...

I have another track weekend in May.

Ok, here are the pictures, taken in January just after I installed it.

Installation only took me about four hours.

My mounting is almost identical to his except for the two small turnbuckle mounts further aft, behind the front round spacers.

The front round spacers must be custom cut to fit to allow the default plane of the splitter to be inline with the thrust angle of the car. Then you can adjust the front turnbuckles to give you more bite. A two foot aluminum 1/2" hollow rod is $6.00 at HomeDepo..

Since I don't, and will not add a rear wing, for me this angle is zero or the splitter will make the rear-end too unstable at high speed.

At Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in February, the fastest I got to on both straights was 150Mph before heavy, heavy braking for the turn and and the car was very neutral and stable. My corner entrance speeds were about 10-15Mph faster... I still run stock suspension but my alignment is not spec. I run -2.5' camber on the front and -2.0 camber on the rear with 1/16th total toe. Since this is my daily driver, that is enough....

I am still not sold on the two turn buckles being seen. I have figured out how to mount them internally to the front bumper so if you wanted to adjust them for more bite all you would have to do is pull the kidney grills and adjust.

The only other thing I must do is figure out just what I am going to use to tastefully fill the space between the splitter and the center of the bumper cover. You can see the < 1" gap in the pictures..

When you purchase the splitter from APR, the only mounting hardware that comes as part of the package are the two turnbuckles. All other hardware (fender washers, bolts etc.) were sourced from HomeDepo.

We had a group buy and the total cost with shipping was $300. Most bought it for looks, but some of us are track rats..... Click here to enlarge

Not 100% sure but they look like BBS RS-GT's.
