    i did a little research. This project is not physically possible.

    The DCT requires advanced software to run it. The most advanced standalone on the market is not capable of running both motor and trans. word on the street is that the capability to do that is years away.

    And you say, well steve, run the M3's ECU in the E36. Not possible. as the ECU is programmed to run the TT M3 Motor/Trans (N55) Combo. also, not worth the time money and fabrication to swap the whole driveline. I wont say its impossible but impractical.

    You can take the new M3's V8 Beast, and run it in another car with a different transmission.

    Like doing an RB26DETT Swap into a RWD 240sx from an AWD advanced traction control transfercase blah blah Skyline.

    Just slap another tranny on her and you are good to go!
