My question is how will they not see the tune when it is hooked up, as new cars almost always are.

They would have to specifically go looking for it. They don't have the time to do that and don't assume your car is tuned.

Dealer never found my flash for example but if going in for new software they could have overwritten it for example.

So what if your DME gets re-written by the stealership, does PAW reflash the DME free of charge after the initial reflash, or is their a charge every time?

Not sure, I assume they would help you out and not charge you for a new tune. With most tuners there is a small reflash fee.

You can call them to ask if you like as well.

I should have jumped on this when they offered it to me for free all those months back... Didn't really have anyone to help me remove the DME back then though... I think i'm going to stick to my JB3 stg 1 for now...

Removing the DME isn't really that bad, they can walk you through it.

Might not be a bad idea (for those in a quick bind, and can't get a good indy shop to do it)... Although if anyone removes my DME it's gonna be Matt... Since he does all the more intensive mods on my X...

Ah nice to see you finally joined. I figured with Jerrys 'X5' and the fact that it flew (yes he jumped it, all 4 wheels in the air with my gf in the car), I figured the flying x5 name was his.

He technically owns the worlds one and only 'E95'....LOL

Probably because the other sites are so scared of us they censor any mention.

Second on the DME removal tutorial with pictures.

Still a little worried that when hooked up at dealer DME will scream "THIS IS NOT OEM BMW!"

It's a shame they haven't figured out how to have a handheld flasher for the N55 yet... Atleast none that I know of.. I would pay extra just to have that capability... PAW get on it... Click here to enlarge

Ok guys, check it out, just got off the phone with PAW Motorsport.

For those concerned about the dealer detecting the flash, don't be. They can't find it. If you get a software update it will overwrite it and they will reflash it for you.

Additionally, we will be putting together an N55 ecu removal tutorial.

This is good, but without a second DME, the car will be down for days on the turn around.
