    An anniversary present ;)

I just booked a 2 day car control track day at the BMW Perf. Center in Spartanburg, SC for our 10 year wedding anniversary! Not only that, my wife will be tracking too!!

And the damn cool thing is my wife thought of it for a trip!!!!

Considering we live ~3,000 miles away, I have to say that we are flying and not driving any one of our Bimmers Click here to enlarge

Oh well, it's in July, so I have lots of time to dream about the event!!

(if this is not posted in the proper section, please move)

    Your wife is amazing.

I thought about moving this to regional but it should be fine in here. Hopefully you will update us when you do this and let us know how it is!

How much does the whole thing cost anyway? If you don't want to say I understand but this is something I would like to do one day too (not with your wife though, or maybe, she sounds cool).

Oh no problem at all, all prices are on the web anyway.

~$1,100 per person for the 2 day event. 15% off if you are a BMWCCA member.....apparently being a member of a Canadian club does not count Click here to enlarge

As for the wife comment......ahahahahhahaha!!! Click here to enlarge

I'll be sure to post pictures, videos and a commentary after we come back from the trip. Click here to enlarge

    It's going to be epic!!

$1100, but then you need to get your hotel room and such right?

The $1100 is for driving their cars right? You get to sample various models?

I wonder if they would let me take my own car out on the track? I also wonder if they would let me speak to anyone in charge of product development... I would probably end up getting banned from there.

Yes, hotels from SC to Florida will feel my wrath!!!

Totally driving their cars.......3 series primarily I believe, and hopefully some 550i's!! Not sure about the M series as there is a whole other school for that model line.....a "tad' more money Click here to enlarge

No way they'd let you take your own car out.....too much liability. But, if I trash their car (no intention of doing so, of course) I get out, compose my self, talk about what when wrong, and get in to another one Click here to enlarge

What is the other school? Is it just for M cars?

    Nice:

    Two-Day M School

M cars represent the zenith of BMW's quest to find the joy of driving. M School utilizes the mighty M5, M6 and M3 to hone your driving skills in preparation of those times when the road or track calls out for a more spirited driving experience.

The first day puts an emphasis on developing elementary high-performance driving capabilities by demanding precision and skill refinement. Exercises will take place on the slalom, autocross, wet skid pad and the Real Roads course.

Day Two challenges you to be more assertive and put the car through its paces. We'll add advanced driving techniques like trail-braking and demand better cornering transitions. The car is ready. Are you?

Tuition includes two nights lodging and meals for school days, M branded polo, gear bag and jacket and custom painted M School helmet. All participants must hold a valid driver's license

    Cost: $3,295
    Check availability
They also have the advanced M school for $4200 but you have to be a driving school or M school graduate to do it.
