    ▀▄ eas | Esquire's 2011.5 Dakar Yellow M3 Build - Akrapovic/MS/AIB inside

Esquire was able to bring in his 2011.5 BMW ZCP M3 in Dakar Yellow. In stock form, this beast is absolutely gorgeous.

In only a week, his 1200mi service was completed and ready for modding:

Items installed (click for high resolution):

    - Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System for e9x M3, complete with 100cpi catalytic converters
    - Akrapovic Delete-R
    - Challenge GT Carbon Rear Diffuser
    - Macht Schnell S65B40 M3 High Performance Air Filter
    - Macht Schnell M3 S65 Performance Underdrive Pulleys
    - IND Gloss Black Kidney Grilles
    - IND Gloss Black Fender Gilles
    - AngeliBright v3.0 10W LED Angel Eye upgrade

    Let's begin:

Esquire's wheels were removed and dismounted for powdercoating Satin Black, returning for mounting along with a set of Macht Schnell spacers to bring the wheels flush with the fenders. In the meantime, we've loaned him a set of 18" 260M Gunmetals to roll around in, which look pretty good on Dakar Yellow by itself.

Esquire: Thanks to you and your brother for the opportunity to work on such a beautiful M3.

I have nothing but Click here to enlarge for that car. I've always liked Dakar Yellow after seeing on an E30 M3. Or was that an E36 M3? Doesn't matter. It fits the M3 like no other color. And then you go and do this to it. Click here to enlarge

BTW, is the Yorkie the EAS mascot?

When you see the quality of the Akra pieces in person, the product really justifies the cost. I even ended up installing a system on our own M3.

The Yorkie was a friendly visitor that weekend, I'll see if I can find some more pics on the card.

Were I to do it all again and thought that I could avail myself of BMW's Individual program, there is no question that Dakar would be my color choice. I generally try to stay away from colors that are loud, like yellow, but this color looks way too good -- it trumps stealth any day. It is an M only color too, isn't it? In fact, it may be an M3 only color. I'm not sure about that but it is truly special.

I had once thought the old E36 M3 in DY looked the best. So, in my mind when I pictured the E92 M3 in Dakar I hadn't given it a second thought. But then I saw a picture of an example on the Internet, probably m3post and it was stunning. And I think Akra is the only worthy exhaust for it. Esquire is a lucky man.

My wife always wanted a Yorkie. So, once we were married a Yorkie we got. A funny thing about Yorkies is that the take to some people and not to others. Our Yorkie, Rhett, took to me and not her. I about shat myself when she called me at work once, crying because the dog had her pinned on the couch. Can you imagine it? A little Yorkie on the floor barking at my wife who was stranded on the couch, and wouldn't let her down. Pathetic, I know. But Rhett really was cool. I didn't have an M3 back in those days but I did get a Miata. Rhett loved riding in the Miata. He'd stand in my lap, put his paws on the steering wheel and look forward as if he were driving. Of course, he would settle for nothing less than driving top down.

We went to visit my folks one weekend at the beach. One rule they have is no pets at the beach. So Rhett and a Westie we had gotten by then (my wife needed "her" dog after all) were left with my sister for the weekend. But Rhett got away somehow. Climbed the fence or something, nobody knows for sure. Haven't seen him since.

My 15 year old daughter now wants a Yorkie. My wife is balking at this. Go figure.

I'd love to have a Dakar Yellow M3 with Akra exhaust plus other choice mods. Dog optional, but highly desired.

I wasn't expecting such a sad story. I would be angry with your sister, very angry. She was supposed to be watching the dog after all... don't leave your kids with her.

That was it. The Yorkie kept trotting like a Clydesdale, it was a trip to watch.
