    Help me choose a TV.

I dont watch TV, at all.

I dont even have cable, because i dont watch TV.

I only want to own a TV to play Forza 3.

I dont want to spend more than 500 bucks on a flatscreen, 1080p preferred.

I want at least a 42" or more.

I was looking at the panasonic, I dont need an LED or anything fancy.

Ok is there really a HUGE difference between 720p and 1080p? Enough to justify the +300 dollar price tag?

You don't need a 3d tv, imho, it's worthless and not worth the hassle - I have one, I've watched it in 3d maybe twice. Unless you want to dish out money for 3D movies that you'll watch once...no.

    $500 for a 42" 1080p? eh...that's a bit hard but here is a great TV:

    $529

personally i'd spend the extra 120 and get the plasma:

Good choice, I went shopping for atleast 2 months, and the panasonic plasma had one of the best pictures Click here to enlarge

Only down side to the plasma is you HAVE to make sure you don't leave any static images on the screen for too long (1-2hours+) or else it will burn in. They have a built in screen saver to prevent that, but just FYI.
