    The new Z4 GT3

Absolutely gorgeous, would LOVE to see a new M coupe and this gives me hope:

Just two months ago, BMW Motorsport softly announced a new model due out in the second quarter of 2010: BMW Z4 GT3. Based on the current generation E89, the Z4 GT3 is powered by the 4.0 liter V8 engine found in the current M3 producing approximately 480 bhp. The engine is controlled by the modern ECU 408, while the Power400 control unit is responsible for operating all actuators. The transmission takes place via a sequential, six-speed gearbox.

The BMW Z4 GT3 has an estimated price of 298,000 euros ($427,000 at the current rate exchange).

The first team to show their E89 Z4 GT3 is Schubert Motorsport backed and the car was spotted during a training session in Paul Ricard High Test Track in France.

Why don't they make a street version of this? I mean, it's freaking gorgeous. Stick the M3's V8 in there, ditch the vert top, keep this body kit, boom, success.

Agreed. There's so much room in the engine bay for the V8. I'd love to see a reasonably priced street version with that styling on the fixed roof.

I'd have to sell you into slavery to be able to afford it and maintain it... not that I would have an issue with that.

Z8 never hand an LSD and was a bit heavy and spin happy.... this would be more than the Z8 could ever hope to be.

One of the locals here has a Z8. I was checking his ride out. One of the obvious differences is as stated no LSD and it was down on power, but it has potential if someone wanted to tweak it. I suppose that really takes away from its collector status. They guy that owned it wasn't interested in any mod or anything - really old guy (not my buddy walking by, although we're old I supposed - LOL). But, it does show the potential and with a fixed roof like the one above you can only wonder. I would love to see an M package version of the fixed coupe.
