    JB3 2.0 Map Guide

    JB3 2.0 Map Guide

    Map 0:
-- Disables JB3, all signals pass through

    Map 1:
    custom map
    Map 2:
-- Performance map, boost levels of 12-14psi depending on mods and weather
-- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
-- 91 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

    Map 3:
-- Identical to map 2 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

    Map 4:
-- Hotter Performance map, boost levels of 13-15psi depending on mods
    and weather
-- Self adapts to modifications like intake, downpipes, exhaust, etc
-- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.

    Map 5:
-- Identical to map 4 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

    Map 6:
-- Designed to optimize bolt on performance
-- 93 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Richer midrange air/fuel ratios to sustain additional torque
-- May trigger hidden tuner detection codes. Purchase a Bavarian
Technic cable from BMS to scan for and delete any hidden codes before service.

    Map 7:
-- Identical to map 6 with additional low end response (aka lagfix)

    Map 8:
    -- Race map
-- 97 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Modifications like intake, downpipes, and intercooler strongly suggested
    -- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

    Map 9:
    -- More aggressive race map
-- 100 octane RM2 or greater required. The higher the octane, the more power.
-- Intake, downpipes, and intercooler required
    -- Lagfix enabled
-- May trigger tuner detection codes

    Map 10-13:
-- Extended race maps. Each 1/2psi more than the previous. For use with modified JB3 boards only

It would be nice to see how the map guide would vary for folks that have meth and no fmic and no exhaust??

I have been playing around with map 7-11. Timing is fine on all the maps but driveablity seems to vary a bit from map 8 up. Obviously these are race maps and are not designed for gentle starts and stops, and automaic shifts in traffic. More and more people are adding meth before they go FBO and so map 7 sugguests FBO and map 8 requires FBO. Is this becuase the IAT variances assuming that a car without an aftermarket innercooler can't handle the heat?? If so then what about the meth user that drives down the IAT?? Are there other factors besides heat and fueling built into the map selections?

Could my car with NO Aftermarket FMIC and no After Market Exhaust but meth be faster on say map 7 than map 8 due to intake air temprature differences/ pressure/ volume??

I remember before I got my down pipes, I loaded up on octane boosted fuel @ 97 and tried map 7. My car seemed slower than it did on map 5 even though i had the octane to support it.

I know I have been on this tune for a while and prob shouldn't be asking such a newbie question but I don't know myself having recently revisted the lower maps. I have been loving map 5 with meth..... so much torque and my logs appear to be giving my wastegate activity a vacation. I recently upped to map 7 and again... a new lease on boost... seems to be livelier than map 8, 9 and 10 off the line and through the mid range. There is no question that once I get up around 70-80-90 mph that the race maps dominate. In a 1/4 mile run as you shift into 4th you get that 17, 18, 19 psi depending on what map you set on but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears the lower maps seem to jerk you out of your skin...

thats a good wallet guide e92... hey mobile do you have a fail safe setup? if so if you pick say map 5 and your meth map 9 when your meth is not flowing your still on map 5 so you shouldn't notice a drive ability difference... and i notice even tho i may be on map 9 when meth is flowing i dont see 16 or 17 psi until 3rd or 4th gear when going through the gears..

There isn't a fail safe available for my controller that works with my tune...!!!...!!! So right now, unless I switch out my Meth controller, a failsafe is a useless waste of money... waiting on the G4 so I can incorperate the labonte failsafe. If the G4 is not compatible with my controller like Terry said it would be then it will be time to swith tunes.... Im sure the BMS camp will be happy to see me go.

This thread can do with an upgrade. How about a JB4 Map Guide?
With all options and menu settings?
I know I can find it on other sites if I really wanted. But I would like it here...

Yes, we could use a JB4 map guide. Tell Terry to get on it.
