    Alpina B7 - 12.8@113

Pretty good numbers from Car and Driver. 113 mph is a solid trap for what is basically a mildly tuned N63 running some large rims:

Thought this was pretty interesting, it has different turbos and internals:

This time, Alpina started with the 750’s 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 and added bigger turbos, bigger intercoolers, strengthened cylinder heads, high-performance pistons, improved cooling, and engine- and transmission-oil coolers. That done, the tuners beefed up the 7’s six-speed automatic and added their own ECU software, increasing max boost to 14.5 psi and output to, uh, 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Okay, same numbers, but torque peaks 1250 turns earlier (at 3000 rpm), and throttle response is essentially lag-free.

Why would they do all that work and no HP increase? Seems kinda fishy......

And how did they strengthen the cylinder heads? And how is peak torque coming on earlier with bigger turbos?

They increase boost pressure with larger turbos, better after-cooling and still claim the same output?
