    2001 330ci M54 supercharger

Hello everyone , I need help trying to figure out what supercharger kit to go with on my 2001 330ci. I want to go active autowerke but I have an automatic

sell car buy 335i. for the amount of money you can sell the car you have now+the money for supercharger/labor ect you can get a 4 door 07 335i that needs a bit of maintenance and a jb4 for the same price. + same/ more power

    Not worth it IMO.

    Welcome!

The answer isn't a new car heh.

Ok, I highly recommend Active Autowerke. Get their SC And be happy Click here to enlarge

Yes, the SC will work with your automatic as long as you don't push it too far. The automatic can be strengthened as well.

Let's see what Active says. I think you're ok with Stage 2 it's beyond that you get problems.

Some companies limit their boost to 7 psi on automatic transmissions. A VF Engineering kit @ 6 psi sounds like it would be a good fit. If you want more, ESS has a 7 psi twin screw kit which makes much more power down low. If you had a manual, Active would be the way to go. The best shops in the world market Active.

The transmission issues are caused by torque which the positive displacement (it's a roots not a twin screw from ESS I believe) will exacerbate due to how the torque hits.

This guy will definitely be happy with the AA kit.

You're right about the torque; however, the ESS kit is a twin screw. Regardless, if he can go AA, I'd recommend it over VF.

It is a twin screw unit you're right, that's pretty nice.

I'd recommend AA over VF as well.

    Hi,

With automatics we only recommend going with a level 1 kit non intercooled. Our level 1 usually puts down around 280 whp. We have had some guys build the stock auto transmission and go with level 2 but for most I suggest sticking with a level 1.

We used to sell the twin screw kit as well and it will definitely not work on a automatic. Like others have mentioned the transmission will slip immediately and slowly die.

Won't a non intercooled kit cause problems and power loss in a high temp climate?
    E85 Z4 3.0i | ESS TS2+ | Quaife ATB LSD | Custom Brembo BBK front/rear | Schrick cams | Schmiedmann headers/cats | Powerflex/strongflex/PSB PU bushings | Vibra-technics engine mounts | H&R anti rollbars

At very low boost an intercooler isn't a huge necessity but sure it will be susceptible to heat soak more than if it was inter-cooled.

Not until you upgrade your transmission or swap it with a manual.
