    Part II of please excuse my ignorance...

    I will accept the opinions of the gurus that while I could do some slight mods to the 2.8 I really won't get much bang for the buck.

    But my next question is why? Is it airflow? Is it that the rotating parts are heavy and won't rev quickly or handle high rpms? Cam not a performance cam? It all boils down to air and fuel delivery, getting spark to it and getting it out the exhaust. Not rocket science. So is the problem getting air/fuel in or out or spark or rotating assembly? Or combo if the above.

    Just wondering.

    It's that it has no turbos and isn't built to be strong in NA form so it's just... weak.

    The N52 is a full 3L slightly undersquare I6 in design. The German ones can achieve close to 270 HP at the crank. I think someone (Active?) has a flsh tune for the US N52.
