    Looking for previous owner....

I'm hoping to find the previous owner of an '07 335i e90, Black Sapphire Metallic, that was traded in at Land Rover in Cary, NC. I just purchased it a week ago, loving it!

I'm interested in finding out more about what he's had on the car and if he has any parts left from it. I hope I don't offend him by spilling his name, but I believe it's James Davis.

If you know him (or if you ARE him), please pm me. Thanks.

Any evidence that makes you think he modded it?

Not to mention the elbow hose has a new clamp on it (signs of meth?) and I just found out that he had the cats/resonator removed but replaced before trading it in (dealership told me that). Actuator (whatever it's called) in the tail light was already unplugged (signs of a tuner), interior blacked out and cf roundels installed (signs of a modder).

Good thing (I hope) is that I also just found out earlier this year all of this was replaced: turbos, injectors, spark plugs, oil filter housing gasket, upper charge air pipe, hpfp and alignment. So, maybe I get a new start w/the car!

not really a sign of meth, althoug thats not a bad thing, except for the turbo's.. more of a sign that he had DV or BOV installed.the exhaust flap is nothing to worry about, thats just for low rpm growl and has no performance effect. you should be good though, just get the datacable and we can go from there

When I had the Audi, I upgraded the DV (Forge 007) b/c their stock DVs were plastic and known to go out. Are you saying there's no need to upgrade these DVs or is the new clamp on the elbow hose a sign he may have had aftermarket DVs or BOV?

It is a potential sign that the previous owner could have had meth by retaining the stock charge pipe while adding a meth elbow only (this is my setup, stock charge pipe + ar designs meth elbow). If your car is auto you likely do not need to add new DVs or a BOV. I have an auto tranny and I am running 17-19 psi on the stock DVs with no boost leak issues at all.

I retract all previous statements about the stock DVs. I was at the track last night and threw 30FF boost pressure codes all night. The meth elbow seemed to be fastened extremely well so the early prognosis is potentially the stock DVs are leaking. If I find that to be the case I will let you know.
