Wow, and you're calling me ignorant... Capitalize... no o bro.

Don't you know anything about business? Competition... Tony, Terry, COBB, Rob, Shiv and all the other vendors... They are all here for a reason and that's to make money. And I for one welcome the competition as it only makes everyone step up. I agree Shiv has pissed a lot of people off and honestly I don't care. But where did you read that I implied that Shiv was the only tuner to push the limits? The only ignorance I see is the fact you called me out on another forum and you can't spell capitalize. Shiv along with everyone else who has added value to this platform has pushed the limits and that's a WIN/WIN for everyone with an N54. So keep tolling for the popular bashing because you picked the wrong person to voice your uneducated opinion on. BTW, I have the greatest respect for Tony, Terry, and Shiv for what they have done for the platform, not to mention I know them all personally. So get a life and stop trolling.

It's hard not to get pissed off about all the BS. Honestly I'm just happy things are moving forward, but with that said it's hard to sit back and watch the big numbers roll in and know that there isn't anything that will benefit my current tune without upgrading or jumping ship to roll with COBB. It is what it is.

Just do a big turbo setup and get it over with. You should have bought that used kit skinrock was selling. That procede on the car now is probably worth $200 so no reason to bother selling it. Just do your own back end flash using Cobb (or the freeware if that ever comes to fruition) and call it a day.

Yeah, I know. I kick myself for not pulling the trigger. Really interested Open Source tune. Use the piggy for boost control and meth. I'll see how it plays out. What's your take. I think it would be a good option for both.

It sounds great in theory. We currently only offer our flash maps via the Cobb solution as it's the only option out but we'll happily offer the same mapping via open source whenever that is out.

I'm with Tony in this. I believe it is hardware related. None of the turbo upgrade tunes plays much with Vanos for the time being, so the differences are not coming from there.
Terry just confirmed he believes JB4 gets it to spool quicker, so it is from Terry, not from "thin air".

Not sure on the version or locked/unlocked status as it relates to value but I've seen a couple throw in the trash for scrap... Sometimes they are offered for $200 and no one buys them. Then you always have the one goober who thinks its still worth $900 and wonders why it never sells after being on the market for months. Click here to enlarge

I also believed it was hardware related. I started looking at the data and saying that something was wrong (talked about it several times); then Tony confirmed it -- it was spooling terribly. Yesterday they discovered the problem. Today they showed it was fixed.

Anyone think that Shiv's secret might have been that he changed the manifold to a twin-scroll and used a twin-scroll turbo? (aside from the HPFP stuff)

There is no secret he is just running a more modern large turbo now compared to what he released with the kit. Spool has been raised up to 4200rpm (?) with little hope of improvement. I'm hoping with the VTX-R60 turbo option, a production manifold, and some tuning magic, to get full spool down to 3800rpm on a dynojet and keep the 700rw potential.

I asked him this point blank, he didn't answer at first, then clearly stated no. So either he is lying, or it's the standard manifold.

I wonder if we'll be able to see the results of the tuner kits before the full kits ship. I had assumed the spool difference between the 60/63/67 wouldn't be all that much because they were running identical exhaust housings/wheels.

With the VTT production manifold spool will be absurd LOL and yes we have done vanos tuning, plenty of it and it does help spool..this is probably what shiv also took as advice from this camp along with fuel...Tony practically gave him the fuel idea I told him how to fix spool LOL its all good, just need this kit on my car already! Then we open up a whole new can of whoopass! Lol
