It requires a boost taper up top to curb the heat and back pressure. With these turbos. You can run 500-550 HP all day long on pump gas, with boost flat to redline and they will be happy to do so.

Thanks for the explanation, I kind of wondered if that was the case but better to ask those in the know then assume Click here to enlarge

Any idea what the VTT VTX-R67 Garrett GTX-R 2867R Supports 950 HP would hit on straight 93? Is around 650 a reasonable guess?

Tony can you give any kind of guess ( Click here to enlarge ) what the spool difference will be between the 7 various turbo options?

Yeah I can see how that can be bad. Too many people run off with too many assumptions. I think I'll hold my 63R vs 67R decision until I see more finalized tuning on the 63Rs. They'll be running the same exhaust wheel/housing right? So the spool difference can't be TOO bad.

I pointed you guys to ATPturbo.com. They break down each turbo with compressor maps. I will not be on the forums much today. Too much stuff to do.

Read around guys, there are other forums that you can read about turbo spool/power potential on a comparable engine. If you can't understand compressor maps, contact your tuner & ask them what they think would best suit your goals.

Atpturbo.com is a very good source for looking up information about these turbos. Anything you can't find on there site you can find on Garrett's website that also has the catalog you can download with all the compressor maps .

    best option

So, given money is not an object, the GTX-R 2860R is the best option for street car, given least lag compared to stock or stage 2 and providing the most power on pump gas. ?????????

Yeah, I know I would have eventually swapped my Stage 2s for 3s. Might as well do it preemptively.
