Upgraded turbo N54 335i with BMS JB4 tune takes on a 458 Italia from a roll twice and goes door to door with it

Two simply awesome race videos here from the past weekend at the No Fly Zone event. The 335i in the video is a 6-speed manual with Rob Beck turbos and a Burger Motorsports Juice Box 4 G5 ISO. It also has full bolt ons including downpipes, FMIC, and presumably meth injection. The 458 Italia appears to be stock. What makes this race impressive is how the 335 does being a 6-speed manual going against the quick shifting dual clutch transmission in the 458.

The first race is pretty close with the 335 just edging the 458 out up top but the second race is quite telling where the 458 gets a slight lead only for the 335 to eliminate the gap. The cars are very evenly matched and the 458 Italia is no slouch especially from a roll. This 335 is putting down some good power, videos below.

That's some good shifting on the 6 spd. One would expect the 458 to close a little between shifts.

Down low it did but once they got to where they shifted less it was about power.

VERY impressive! Italia's 60-130 time are high 7 seconds. That's just sick to pull on one like that.

The 335i does not go door to door with the 458. It more like blows it's doors off, especially in the second video Click here to enlarge

I don't know about "very" close. The 335 was definitely pulling and won by at least 2 car lengths.

2 car lengths (if that) in a 1/2 mile long race from a roll is very close.

Great results. That RB car is very quick.

(Shiv's single vs 458 for reference. Race starts at 5:50.)

Not the best angle but looked like Shiv couldn't reel it in and then did the ricer flyby when the 458 get off it?

    That's still kinda surprising!

    458's are 3273lb and 562bhp with a twin clutch 7 speed?

335's are supposed to be a little heavier (3550ish) and a little less/similar power (well... 450~whp?) AND a powerband that drops off before redline with a 6mt?

does that 335 just make a heck of a lot above average power? or is the 458 a little sick?

The 458 doesn't really dyno all that much. It's fast, a high 120's trap car stock. But an RB turbo upgrade on race gas is in this same range.

The 458 owner just needs headers and a tune to wave goodbye...

Headers and tune for a 458 likely cost as much as the 335 altogether lol

These cars are on whole different levels, but that's where the fun in these underdog vs supercar races is!

Nah, not really all that more expensive than M3 parts.

wow 2 car win not bad for a car you can buy for sub 20k with upgraded stock turbos. I can only imagine the feeling the Ferrari owner had.

Ya I'd like to imagine the feeling of going home in the 458 and putting my feet up at my equally impressive pad. It's like a Veyron losing a race to some blown big block that runs 8's. Who cares?

A lot of people ran multiple times. You are there to enjoy the cars. The 458 owner isn't trading his car in for 5 335's now.

Well thats obvious, but its also obvious he didn't enjoy seeing the tail lights of that 335i from the first race either. It is what it is, can't wait to see more videos.
