    Dashcam vids

Didn't find a thread in a brief search on the forum. Every time I see one of these, I reevaluate how I would have handled the situation of the diff drivers involved. Someone is gonna make money stitching these things together for driver's ed courses!

I need to get a dash cam for my truck. I tried using my gopro but the battery only lasts an hour or so, worthless for my typical 11 hour driving day. I get to see a lot of funny stuff though. Did you see how the power lines flipped that car he was carrying like a toy? They are very strong, i hit a low hanging power line once and peeled open the top of my trailer like a sardine can before it finally broke about a 1/4 way through a 53ft trailer.

That's crazy, good thing that one guy saw it and was able to get out of the way. I've always wanted one for my own safety and to maybe catch something like this. I've used an app for my phone but it's to much work to set it up every time and what not.

The truck driver actually did a pretty good job avoiding those other cars. The guys he almost hit didn't even care about if he was ok and just kept driving...

Motion detection too... sweet. Great for valets and parking and such. One would probably need two.

Well I street park in NYC, so motion detection is pretty much useless. It records every time a car passes which is often. I use g sensor detection which records when the car is bothered in any way. Even when I leaned on my car 8t would record.

Since it records speed and embeds it into the video, it could make for some entertaining mexico videos too.

It records MPH using GPS I take it? Very slick.

Ok does it upload through wifi though in real time? Reason I ask is say I get stopped by a cop and I have one record the inside and he does something wrong/illegal like search my car without reason I don't want him to be able to just take the SD card.

No you can't do that. You need to transfer files onto your smartphone through an app. Its not a fast process either, but it works.
