Sounds like after flashing the transmission with the 0DA file from the v48 daten you noticed an improvement in how the car shifts? How would you describe the change; more firm, less jerky, faster? Do you have any way to log the rpm with respect to time?
Sorry wait for final adaptation (1-2 days because the 2007 model is slow in order to "learn" new values)

The transmission constantly talks to everything on the PT-bus via its CAN connection. it has to to work. It cannot exist in a vacuum.

Try not to take away too much from a journalistic article that calls the transmission a "Switchtronic." Journalists often aren't technical people.

[EDIT] Google "zf transmission with mechatronics" to see that documentation. Look at the graph on page 11.
Great info thanks. Looks like the 6HP21 has the capacity to shift as fast as DCT/DKG. BTW it is Alpina who calls it "switchtronic."

For my point of view switchtronic is fast but not at the same level of a dual clutch transmission.

    You need:
    1. INPA installed and working
    2. Cable
    3. E89 SPDaten 11 gig file
    4. WinKfp
    5. the Alpina trans files (1 is still missing)
    6. a BMW N54 engine
Since i dont have number 5-6 and xp windows i cannot show how to do it and since we dont have the required alpina file nobody can actually flash it yet.

So just to be clear, @franzzz is running the v48.1 0DA file for the transmission, correct? He is NOT running the 0PA and 0DA files Alpina had modified by ZF for their build.

He is using 7566894A.0pa which is not the 7591971A.0pa that Tomaz gave use as the Aplina program file.

correct, he has flashed almost all his modules with latest software from daten 48.1. Without the Alpina .0da we are stuck for the moment.

Correct. With 140 posts, I just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Hopefully Tomaz will chime in with some more info.

Is it even possible to read a 0DA or 0PA file with WinKFP and export it such that you could distribute it?

All these files are in SPdaten/GKE215 folder you can find them there.
You have to find number 7615835 in WINKPF interface and load into TCU.
All programs perfectly work in Win7 32bit.
    Good luck!

So theoretically we have everything? Or are we still missing that 1 Alpina file? Regardless, if we've found majority of the stuff at this point, it's a matter of time until the remaining file & a DIY gets found on the internet. Very eager to see if this actually pans out, be a huge benefit to the 6AT crowd Click here to enlarge

Ok. So the 0Pa file that you posted (the Alpina one) is used with the standard v48.1 daten 0da file for the transmission? Is that correct?

I don't know as WinKPF works, but the program itself will pick up the necessary file. You simply should try to understand.

no you need to pair the exact same file or force it. Winkpf presents you with all files that works for your trans and the Alpina one does not show up since the .0da is missing. So how was it flashed? by forcing it ? Please confirm.
By the way do you have an Alpina? i See you have the 330 km/h tacho. that as well can be fixed with the Alpina file . Do you have have access to the complete DATA of Alpina? If yes could you please share the whole data file?

I already said that all necessary files are in SPdaten.
You need to download and make export to WinKPF.
