Anyway you can flash the wrong TCU and have the trans dead but reflashing the right one will fix it so no sweat.
ok i think i have one laying around...

If and when I do it, I will for sure have a battery charger as my battery is a little suspect and I wouldnt want power suddently cut off due to a weak battery...Play it safe and find a charger.

The battery charger is just a precaution, but one worth taking. The last thing you want is your battery to die in the middle of a flash. Car batteries are good at delivering a lot of current in a little time, but very back at delivering a little current over a long time. As for a 16 amp charger, that's about 200 watts. Probably a little excessive.

I have original software from 2007 on ALL my modules as the car has never been to the dealer for any update. I refused to go in for anything because any updates and it will take away my ability to close the top with my key fob( I dont have CA)! I took a reading of my modules and my EGS ZB number is 7576506 the software was from 4/07 and the Build of car is 3/07 Do you guys think I can get this working if it indeed is doable.

    7603535,0000000,7591971,A,7603536DA,0FFFFFFFFFD,00 0,1 W
So I just cross referenced all of the N54 E9x specific .0DA files with the Alpina 0PA file (7591971A.0PA) and have found that only one of the US specific N54 0DA files (A7601493.0DA not A7606262.0DA) line up with the Alpina flash in GKE215.dat. I then checked the N54 ECE specific E9x files and found that all three of the 0DA files in the v48.1 daten (A7603536.0DA, A7603538.0DA and A7615836.0DA) line up with the Aplina 0PA file in GKE215.dat.

I noticed that out of those five 0DA files, the 7606262 file is the odd ball with regard to the ZL_Referenz and Z_File-Name fields if you compare the headers.

Also, when looking at the headers, the 0DA files that appear on the same line as the Alpina 0PA file have similar ZL_Referenz and Z_File-Name fields.

For the US specific 0DA file that does not seem to match up with the Alpina flash, I noticed similarities in these fields compared to the 0PA file that is does appear to match up with in the .dat file (7566894).

I hypothesize this means the file A7606262.0DA is not compatible with the Alpina flash.

This was a mock up and me messing around trying to figure things out...One thing that I did note is that when you enter the ZB number 7615835 like Tomas stated it does automatically reference the Alpina B3 file 7591971 to use....This is a good start...

Here is a pic of my mock trial..

The GKE215.dat file alludes that A7615836.0DA is the file to use in this case. I'm still speculating that files on the same line in the .dat file have some significance to each other.

do you want me to try the 7615836 to see if references the 7591971 file automatically like it did with the 7615835?

Do you know when your trans will get to 517 & when they'll start working on it? The shops not too far from me and I was gonna try to swing by & see how the works going and the various upgrade components they're gonna use.

It will be in transit next week and hopefully be worked on the week after. I will post when it has arrived. I'm also asking Fftec and Sam to document the rebuild.

try to load the Alpina one. if the gear box does not work just load the latest OEM which is far better than the one you got

It appears from my mock trial that your not able to access the 7615836.ODA ZB ..What assembly ZB-Number would I need to try to make it reference the A7615836.ODA file you speak off?

    7615835 references the B3 file 7591971

I would think that the ZB number 7615835 from your chart above makes it compatible with both files.

    7603535,0000000,7591971,A,7603536DA,0FFFFFFFFFD,00 0,1 W

But for some reason it only references it straight to the 7591971 unless we can force it to use the 7603536.ODA file...puzzling

ok great cant wait to get my car back (has been 3 months now..... ) and test this out on all modules. my production date is 07/07. Wonder if there are differences with US/EU models as well .
Did you try flashing the latest OEM file for the trans?

Here is the pics..Also is your cable connected to the computer side of it? Also notice the ECU address/integration on yours is empty. I am not sure which is right. Do you see the loading % start at 0%? Did your application do that before showing the error page? Try pluggin in the cable to computer and attempt to do it again to see if we get the same message

If cable is not hooked up to the laptop then you will not see the bar as the software doesnt see the OBD interface and would not even attempt to load software as there is no interface seen. I just checked my NFS-backup folder and its also empty.
