Whats your take on this do it. or is it a waste of money?

and I wouldn't mind taking apart the extra VB i have and taking measurements. and my build date is 09/07 am i screwed as well?...
well you can check with inpa the part you have . i will check mine as soon as i get my car back. mine is a 06/07 if i recall correctly.
Anyway trying flashing doesnt cost anything. worst case you get an error and than you reflashed back

So if the Alpina file doesn't work, you can just use the 0PA file from v48.1 daten?

I think its too early to say anyone is screwed until we know why it didn't work for franzzz.

You will be in a unique situation with the vale bodies, have one stock on one modified. If you could take accurate measurements of spring length, diameter, and spring constant then I say do it. You would need calipers to take the dimensional measurements, and a fixture using a thin, long bolt and some washers and a gym weight ( maybe 5 pounds) to measure the spring constants.

Yeah, I'm seeing that too. 1071198976 up to 03/07, and 1071198973 beyond.

Those are ZF part numbers, what are the BMW ones?

He said when you change maps or programs it gonna have to learn to that power level and should straighten right out. He said its not uncommon and didnt act as if it was a problem. I had the trans shop take pics and when i get back from business trip ill sit down with them and come up with a review.I normally do upgrades myself but this is out of my league so info will be based on their findings.I do know the clutch packs looked burnt to hell and when i did fluid change 10k ago nothing smelled burnt or gave me any sign that they were burnt.
I've reset transmission adaptations in INPA to see if that may resolve timing flatline a while back, it made the tranny shift extremely rough and clunky. I'd hear a clunk when the trans shifts from 2 to 1 while cruising to a stop. I was afraid I did some damage, but it took a whole 600 miles before the transmission adapted and went back to normal operation. I'd give it 600+ miles before you say something's wrong.

If the Alpina TCM programming actually works out, it'd be great to enjoy this seamless acceleration (1:10)

It's def not DCT quick with the shifts, but it appears noticeably quicker than OEM 6AT programming (especially in the lower, more violent 2 --> 3 shifts)

    SP-DATEN_E89_v48.1 Torrent Link

Found this and from what I can tell, it's all there. 4.6GB compressed. I'm connected to 4 seeders and hitting almost 850kB/s, so it shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours at this pace. I have 35m up/down fiber so I'll keep seeding if anyone is interested in downloading, the more the better. Let me know if you have any issues with the link.

Update: File download is complete. Ended up hitting 1MB/s so it didn't take as long as I thought it would. I'll try to find time to play this weekend.

basically write up something like its a sticky. If someone makes it clear i will do it on my fbo car i have an 08/2007 build date
