Not sure how much of a diff it makes. I hit full timing with 87 or 91 making up the difference. But do you really want to run 87 instead of 91 for only 20c on half a tank less? Its cheap insurance.

I wouldn't run anything less than 91, why would anyone?

I agree. I am just saying there wasn't a measurable difference between 87 and 91 in my limited testing of it doing mixes with E85.

It would be interesting to see if there would be with race gas and E85.

On stock turbos at reasonable boost levels, not from octane. If the energy/unit air is more then sure, but I doubt it will be much. Would be interesting to see. The added power from 100% E85 vs 50% is mainly from the increased energy/unit air and not so much from the added octane.

There's a huge debate in the motorcycle world that's been proven many many times. But, as far as motorcycles go, 87 octane produces more power than 91 or 93. Weird how that works but I'm not using it, only 91+ or MS109 or VP110.

Honda Grom, most fun you'll ever have on 2 wheels.

It depends. On stock timing curve if you aren't pulling timing then 87 will make more than 91 I'd think. If you have a more aggressive timing curve, then you should be able to get more out of 91. Thats an over simplification of course, but basically you want to maximize timing and CR within your octane window. If you have 91 that hasn't maxed out timing, you might as well use 87 and get the faster burn which should give you more power on less timing. I think that's how it works anyway...

Nice results. It's interesting that I have about the same dip around the same area of the curve.
