    Model transformation

My buddy is a talent manager in NYC, he signed this girl at 18 when she was a hippy blond part time model, he sent her to london for a makeover and a now she is ranked #3 in the fashion runway circuit, making $45K per cat walk...

She is a single mother as well, 4 year old boy...

A person that does them once in a while to change up their routine will probably last longer but from my experience when people jump into these programs expecting great things and to improve all sorts of body parts in no time they are let down and move on to another "fad" workout. I think boot camps are great and p90x is sooo boring sitting in front a tv doing. I think throwing a boot camp workout in once a week will give your body a good curveball to add to health and muscle growth and make people come baback.

When I did crossfit I was not in the best of shape. Hated it! But I'm sure if I went when I was more in my prime I would have kept with it longer.
I've personally found, it doesn't matter much how you train (as long as you do it semi regularly of course) - but you can't out train a bad diet.
Best results I've ever had were from running 3 days a week, resting the other 3 and doing some kind of CT on the 7th day (hoops or swimming usually). The results were only noticeable when my diet was on track. When I first started training (would lift on my 3 off days) I lost 10 lbs in 6 months, then when I got my diet going, stopped lifting and started resting my body more, I dropped 18 in 6 weeks.

Diet got bad again, gained 10 right back even thought I was running a lot more than normal and my metabolism is high.

It's real simple - calories in < calories out, get good sleep. Try to manage stress (working out is actually really good for this, but stress is inevitable when you're a majorplayer like we all are)

its basically a calorie game but there's a little more too it such as types of calories you are eating, meal frequency etc. I never really saw the point to paying a trainer, all the information you want to know is available for free online and if you can't motivate yourself you'll never meet your goal anyway.

The meal frequency/time of eating theory has been pretty convincingly attacked the last couple years, from the standpoint that when/how often you eat as an isolated variable doesn't really make a difference. It's a lot of related variables, such as infrequent eating making you really hungry making you more likely to overindulge, propensity for late night snacks to be unhealthy and keep you up, $#@! like that. And yea you could go into the difference between carbs and fats and sugars et al but for the general fatassed american, simply eating less will do them wonders.

Agreed on the trainers are bull$#@! thing, I would never pay someone to do something I could do myself.

I'd say yes and no. For the average person or average training goals, you are correct most ppl could muddle through it themselves or need motivation.

I've been working out almost 5 days/week for 30 years (jeesus) for different goals. I've been urged to get certified and train with them. However, I pay a trainer because with all the possibilities I have and the lofty goals I have at 44, I need some objective input. I mean, I look around at the other dads at the kid's school or at the cheer gym my girls go to, or at the competitions...I'm not in fantastic shape and my diet is $#@! and I smoke and stuff, but god damned if they all don't look like fat gellatenous slobs....
