COBB AccessPORT for the 2011 BMW 135, 335i and 335xi

COBB is extremely happy to announce the release of the AccessPORT for the N55 powered 2011 BMW 135, 335i and 335xi. We have been cranking extremely hard to get this out – with our best engineers working on making this a terrific product.

This is a Beta release – which means that although the support and tuning are 100% complete and, frankly, awesome – we don’t support every single ROM on the road right now. As most of you know (but your friends might not), a ROM is an individual calibration file that makes small tweaks to the Engine Control Unit from the factory. Usually these changes are small and completely imperceptible to the consumer – however, we always want to support the latest the OEM has to offer so that all of the safety and reliability that BMW engineers into its vehicles stay there. It takes more work to do it this way – but we think it's best for you and your car.

As such, during this Beta release of the AccessPORT, it is expected that several customers will need to send in the ROM data collected by the AccessPORT before the installation can be completed. Typically, new ROM support can be added in only 3-5 business days and is as simple as emailing your ROM information, and then completing an AccessPORT update on your home computer. As we collect more ROMs, the chance of having an unsupported ECU software revision goes down significantly and the sooner you can enjoy the added power!

The AP-BMW-002 will come pre-loaded with Stage 1 Sport and Stage 1 Aggressive power maps, as well as a Stage 0 map and Valet mode for reduced power when needed. Using the Aggressive map, you can expect an 11% increase in peak HP and a 25% increase in peak torque. The area under the curved is also massively increased with maximum power gains near 18% in HP and 26% in torque. Stay tuned for more maps (Stage 1+COBB FMIC) and updates coming soon as N55 development continues! Click the link below for more information and to get yours now!

Eventually both the X3, X5 and the other N55 platforms will get that support... But I'm giving my wife the X5 and I'm getting a yet to be determined Audi (haven't decided it if it will an A5/S5 or S4)

Well the A5 2.0 isn't a slouch either (especially if upgraded with the S3's turbo), but if I go with the S4/S5, I will make sure it has the 3.0

Just need to decide whether I want to go coupe or sedan.... Sedan would be cheaper (as their are several certified/used models avail) but coupe (even at $58k almost fully loaded, no driver assist package, military overseas discount) is a bit much and then throwing on a STG II upgrade... I could swing it on the Sedan, but the coupe (which I like more...)

My friend placed an order for his N55 135i so he definitely can't wait to see how it performs with the tune. Who knows, there might be some Cobb on Cobb crime this weekend...

What psi are these maps putting out? Our n55 flash puts out 13 psi while the Jb on map 2 puts down 14 equating to about 7 whp more on our dyno.

Would you be willing to send me a flash to test as well? I have no idea on the psi of these.

I don't remember the exact boost curve over the pull, but it does taper as you would expect from a small turbo. The JB4 we tested made less power, but it seemed to be plagued with some pretty serious throttle closures causing a rough power curve (seems like this might have been a fluke). Might have looked ok without the throttle closures.

    Cheers,
    Rob

Be sure to test out our new N55 JB4 ISO firmware. We've made some pretty serious revisions to N55 boost targeting for the better.

Looking forward to ATP for the N55 so we can work on a backend flash for those who want to run nitrous, go to a larger turbo, etc.

I don't have access to it or I would. I believe it was up to date as of a couple months ago. Changes since then?

We're working on getting ATP ready. I would like to feel the two working together. Have not had a chance yet.
