Someone made a point of this on M5Post -- The intercooler upgrade for the N63/S63 (Tu) is gonna be PRICEY... Dinan has an upgraded air/water intercooler for the N63 -- $2,5000

It's not very publicized... All of the N63 cars have the aftermarket air/water intercooler, exhaust & 4 different tunes:

    • Stage 1 ($3k) - 495 HP / 573 TQ (Gains Over Stock: 96 / 103)
    • Stage 2 ($3.5k) - 501 / 580 (Gains: 102 / 110)
    • Stage 3 ($3.7k) - 511 / 580 (Gains: 103 / 110)
    • Stage 4 ($3.9k) - ??

It outpowers the other options (Velos, Gintani, Evotech, AA), but it's retardedly priced.

Dinan doesn't outpower Velos on this platform. Velos rather significantly outpowers Dinan tune only.

    Straight off Velos' website
Velos Designwerks is pleased to announce the release of its performance software for the N63 BMW 4.4L Liter Twin Turbo V8 Engine. Producing an astounding 402 hp and 440 lb-ft off of the assembly line, the Velos Designwerks engineering team has been able to increase this powerplants output to 455 hp and 532 lb-ft of torque.

The actual peak gains over the stock car is 58 hp and 72 lb ft of torque.
Since I won't go off numbers because Dinan & Velos can be using different dynos, the deltas are still greater (at least advertised) with the Dinan N63 tune

No sense in going back & forth, I'm sure Velos is running a more aggressive tune than Dinan (who has a warranty they need to honor), and at a much more affordable price. Kudos to them.

Yep, pointing out that there are much more powerful options than Dinan for less money. The paper figures are meaningless.
