Hard to tell what goes on in that video but impressive little hatch especially considering it is FWD from a dig.

Yeah but a GTR is deadly consistant as eveyone knows,so if it runs low 10's at the track it's also going to run low 10's on the street and thats what Im basing my statement on.
Of course they can be beaten,I never once said they are unbeatable. But posting a race against a $#@!ty purpose built Civic&then proclaiming "see,look..I told you they are not unbeatable!" is kinda lame.
And if were talking 1000whp+ and running on the street on D/R's the smart money will be on the AWD GTR. Were not talking bout low 10sec cars, were talking about the big boys that are running 9.0's in street trim. Im not fanboi, just giving respect where its due since I know Sticky HATES the GTR's

I tell you what bang for the buck vs HP few cars can match the grip, handling or efficiency thats for damn sure. Sucks to say it...

Next years model for the US will bring some minor but effective weight reduction, faster shifts and a few more HP yet again from I am told. They want to add in some of the JDM lightweight and Spec V stuff to our cars. That will be a problem LOL

I respect its performance and admire the aftermarket but think it's a soulless robot from the future. Don't complain when Nissan makes one of these:

Boost Logic quoted my friend 600whp for a GTR for $6K about 2 weeks ago..

It would cost me $20k++ to get that out of my E60 M5. Even buying the new CLS63 or F12 M6 and grabbing a 700hp package would cost you well into $100k. Other than a tuned 997 TT or nasty C6 Zo6, seriously, what can you do?! Nothing, just enjoy those 4 round LED tail lights..

Why $20k? An SC, some meth or race gas, 600 whp.

More expensive than $6k? Yes. But less than $20k.

ESS VT-2 S/C with RPi headers yields 570rwhp on a MAHA Dyno. Race gas would push it further, but still the S/C kit runs $16k for parts only and the cheapest headers will run $3k. Stack shipping and labor cost on top of that. I understand just the install on the headers can run almost a grand for the S85. Trust me, I wish it were cheaper.

I've been looking at the stroker kit from PPM Racing and was quoted about 8K shipped for the parts.. Even then I would need nitrous or a S/C to approach 600whp.

I'm considering grabbing something more reliable and cheaper to operate for a short time and stack up paper while waiting on the price of the AMG M157's to come down. We'll see..Click here to enlarge

I hear you but if you run a bigger blower you don't have to even add the headers and will be right there. The S65 hits 600 whp, you can too.

also, a high 9 second civic at the track is NOT a 9 second civic on the street. much more difficult to put power down on the street vs a prepped track.

again, they can be beaten. although very fast, there are always faster cars out there.
yea they can lose but you need to be up 100whp on them if not more!! you wont out launch them, out 60ft them, or our shift them.

Big money for that amount of power... Imagine $16K in a new GT500 (built motor, blower, cams, fuel system and full exhaust)
