    its a VF650 car 7 .5 psi

lets not forget that nismo370 @ "6psi" beat a ctvs with over 650hp @5k rpms lighting the tires up on the dyno, by 2-3 cars. the motors make power, but the cars are heavy..

they actually drop the boost in the V and i bet didnt upgrade the pulley to compensate...a V with headers and the right pulley can do 125-126 all day

Dropping the boost just lowers the backpressure the car should breathe more freely and make more power.

it will but wont make more power unless the pulley size is changed to compensate....trust me...happened to plenty Vs....you dont go headers in that car until you are ready to pulley up

@Sticky you might want to update the OP, if you watch the video again it shows the m3 interior with a DCT.

Argh, I figured it was a DCT. I'll just leave it alone, people can read the comments.

looked like the V would need another 100hp to complete again in this race, it not in the same league at its current state

Not always, just creates a lot more heat soak on a road course.

If the boost drops it reduced back-pressure it clearly is making a difference... and as mentioned more power with less heat. You don't have to push the blower as hard.

No I meant more power, less heat, less boost. You are essentially increasing the efficiency. Just because you drop boost doesn't mean you are making less power.

I had a fifth gen camaro with a KB, making about 7.5 psi. When I installed 1 7/8" LT's boost only dropped .5 psi.

    Just sharing my experience.

This was my experience. Once the LT's went on, the rear tires broke loose much easier.

The sound was G-d aweful, but that's another story.

I think the problem is a lot of people equate boost to horsepower. I kind of looked at it that way as well a while ago. The thing is, you can make more power at less boost if you improve the efficiency. The pulley is the same, the blower is still spinning the same, it just is breathing easier.

The goal should be to make as much power as possible at the least amount of boost possible. This is why M motors are a good forced induction platform due to their high efficiency to begin with.

Interesting. What size blowers? 1.9's or larger aftermarket ones?
