    Eurocharged BMW 1M Dyno Tune results on 91 octane - +67 wheel horsepower

    Eurocharged is very well known for their Mercedes tuning but they also tune for a variety of other platforms such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, basically you name it. That includes BMW and recently Eurocharged did a custom dyno tune for a 1M. The dyno readout here is in killowatts and newton meters so we have converted the figures to units you are all more familiar with (horsepower and pound-feet).

    The car put down 297.7 kilowatts to the wheels which is 399 wheel horsepower. Keep in mind this is a different dyno and the baseline was in the 350 wheel range which is slightly higher than what the car puts down on a dynojet. Regardless, what is important is the delta and at 6100 rpm the car sees a different of 67 wheel horsepower with gains through the whole curve.

    I still don't understand why the 1M has such a superior timing curve when compared to the other N54s...

    Doesn't make sense to me as it will ultimately have the same limitations as any other N54.

    The stock tune will obviously be better but other than that it should offer the same capability as other tuned N54's.

    Well the 1M has high flow cats in the factory downpipes - which allows them to push the envelop a little further. Also the 335is, 135is, 1M have the benefits of additional cooling, which leads to more consistent performance. But the timing curve is a moot point when flash tuning - they can flash whatever timing curve they want.

    For the piggyback tunes - the conservative timing curve is great, it allows them to run more boost without adding additional octane (because of the conservative timing) and no need to use (as much?)CPS offsetting.

    I wonder how good the 1M high flow cats are in the in factory downpipes. If they are less restrictive then other n54 cars, then why are people changing them out.

    Is there data in regards to the 1M's high flow cats and how effective they are?

    On realoem.com the part numbers are different but was wondering if there was actually data to back it up in some way that they were high flow cats.

    Maybe the 1M cats are better but regardless an aftermarket exhaust setup will still be even better. And the difference between the two OEM cat setups will be very, very small if there even is a difference.

    As sticky said, they are still catted so gains will be made when switching them out. As far as how much less restrictive they are - no clue. There was a few posts over on E90 that talked about it. I would contact GIAC or Cobb to see what data they have. For a modified N54 that wants to prevent voiding warranty, they are a perfect compromise.

    Hey guys, didn't even know about this thread, thanks sticky. The dyno is tune only. The car has the same characteristics as other N54's but like discussed the hardware being different is what brings the car alive. As we all know a simple change in hardware like downs or exhaust really brings these cars to the monsters that they are. We have been playing in the BMW world for quite some time, but don't invest the time and resources that we do with our mercedes or lambo line. Simply put there are too many players in BMW tuning, and it seems like everyone is out for blood at any given second!
