Traction control and overboosts are by far the most common causes of throttle closures. You were having some boost overshoots during the log but i wouldn't have expected to see TPS dop to 37% from the mild overboost(trimming to the mid-70s is pretty much the norm.)

How long after you flashed before you took the datalog? If it was taken shortly after flashing then that could be it. From what i've seen/experienced it takes 2 or 3 good pulls and a little driving before the logs will settle down.

Sure, you sure could try the aggressive map. Pretty much the worst that could happen is you get excessive timing corrections. If you try aggressive and your timing looks good then you're fine, if it's noisey you can just flash back to the sport map.

Gotcha - it was shortly after I flashed that I took the log. I did drive around to let the car warm up (keeping out of the boost the entire time), but then it was pretty much straight on to the pull and logging. I'll do another run tomorrow and see what it looks like. I'll also probably try the aggressive map just for fun and I'll post up that log too (if you don't mind taking a look at it).

    Thanks again!

Hey Radar1 - did another run this morning. Same deal as before (6,500ft ASL, 91oct, stg1 sport, N54 Auto, 2nd and 3rd gear pull). I think they look better, but thought I'd get your opinion before trying out the aggressive.

Thanks - if I could rep, I would rep you!

Is this what the E30 Map is supposed to look like? Obviously the log was clean no timing corrections, but just making sure. Timing looks good but the boost fell off faster than on the Stg 2+ map. Should I level out the load targets up to 6000rpm?

The first gear in that pull(3rd maybe?) had a big boost overshoot and severe throttle closure followed by a quick drop off in load. However, after the shift it looked like it cleared up a little but it's still there. I would be more focused on clearing up the overboosts and then seeing how it holds boost.

So Stage 2+ Aggr seems to run good. Cars is really fast.
Please give me your opinion on my logs.

Was 4th and 5th gear. Post shift timing correction should be because DSC indicator was blinking.

Yeah man, logs look good. Timing corrections are more likely during/immediately post shift so that's not a big suprise nor something to be worried with as long as it's just one or two cylinders.

Can you give me a quick step by step of what to change in the WGDC Base table to tone down the overboost?

Add "Boost setpoint factor" and "MAF requested(WGDC)" to your datalog list. Then grab a couple more logs and where the boost overshoots are occuring in relation to the above logging channels pull a little WGDC out. The general consensus is to make reductions 10% at a time so as not to pull too much out.

An important thing to note is to be sure ATR is setup to display the MAF REQ(WGDC) in (GS) rather than (KG/m)

(Keep in mind the following is all just for example)
So, for example, if your overshoots are happening at:
    Boost setpoint factor= 2.1
    MAF REQ(WGDC)= 180

Then you open ATR, go to the WGDC base table and find the cells that correlate best.

    Then pull some DC out

Then, save the map. Transfer to the AP and relog and see how it looks.
Give it a few pulls after flashing so that the logs have calmed down. You don't want to end up chasing your tail over an issue that may not really be there.

Also, when using this method it's possible that you may run into boost oscillations. If that happens it means you're getting close to where you wan't to be.

Great to see your car is running well with the COBB.

Sometimes I also miss an xDrive on mine - too much torque!

You're not logging TPS act. That's what VD uses to auto trim the log(maybe other stuff too) so it's required for it to do it's thing.

Thanks. I went out again and did another run with the proper parameters.
How does it look now? How can I improve? I also notice a slight bump both times I logged when it shifted from 3 -> 4.

It looks good. No timing corrections and no throttle triming in response to overboosts. If you wanted to play around with ATR a little that looks like a good place to start.
