    1088 HP Electric car

Croatian firm Rimac Automobili used the recent Top Marques Monaco 2012 event to unveil the latest version of its Concept One electric supercar, which has been upgraded with tires from Dutch firm Vredestein.

While the addition of new tires, even those designed by Italdesign Giugiaro, isnít all that exciting on its own, the big news is that Rimacís concept one is available for sale, though anyone interested will have to fork over $980,000.

Rimac is currently taking reservations and deposits for a production version of the Concept One, which the company says will be limited to just 88 units in total and enter production next year.

For its staggering asking price, Rimac will deliver an electric supercar immersed in luxury and capable of 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.8 seconds and top speeds of 190 mph. The world-beating performance figures, for an electric car at least, are courtesy of Rimacís innovative quad-motor design, which has a combined output of 1,088 horsepower and 2,800 pound-feet of torque.

Rimac also boasts that 92kWh of energy can be stored in the Concept Oneís liquid-cooled batteries, which is enough to carry the car a distance of 372 miles on a single charge.

As for its unique tires, these are from Vredesteinís Ultrac Vorti series and were designed toge
ther with Giugiaro specifically for high-performance applications. The Concept Oneís drive system, where each wheel is driven separately, requires a tire that can guarantee superior road handling and performance yet at the same time must look stylish.

The special rubber measures in at 245/35 R 20 (front) and 295/30 R 20 (rear) and is wrapped around a set of lightweight monoblock wheels from HRE.

WTF!!! 2800lbs of torque!!!!! I can't wait to see this car running just for curiosity sake. Not happy about only hearing the tires on the ground an no exhaust noise. Maybe it will have something fake like the sound in the cabin of the m5 to give u more thrill.

    Awesome!

Yes, the missing exhaust note will kill some of the excitement of this, but with 2,800 ft/lbs of shove, I think I could get over it.

Very cool but I don't trust some random Croation company to actually bring something like this to market.

An electric car is an auto mobile using electrical energy stored in batteries. Electric car is great invention and best technology in this era. This car is very beneficial and eco friendly product.

Not sure what you are trying to say here.
Why is it best technology? Recharging takes forever, and the milage on a charge is pathetic. Only good for the shorter commutes.
And it is very eco unfriendly.
The losses age gynormous, from a powerplant up to the charging of the car batteries you lose up to 75% of the input energy. Unless you only charge the car with wind energy, but that means never leaving the charging point fot more then an acciradius of 70 miles, and only drive the car after there was enough wind...
As a technology it it promissing, but only when you can tank say hydrogen and have a hydrogen electric converter aboard.
Until the gasstation on the corner has a hydrogen filling possibility this technology is going nowhere, or at least not far Click here to enlarge

Boring.. 1000+hp and 2800 torque and still Veyron 0-60 time and ONLY 190mph top speed.. and that with no engine sound.

For this kind of money I would get a Zonda, or a used Veyron, or almost anything else..

I wonder how much thing weighs.. because the performance is just not there, and then if the weight is too much it will not handle.

If it would be me I would have made the price tag $ 3 million at least, just to make it the most expensive production car out there,, because the people buying this would pay anyting for the bragging rights even if there is not much to brag about.
