    Silicone Coupler Meth Bung

Morning Gents. I just got a meth bung from Howerton which is supposed to be used with the 5mm thick silicone couplers. I was planning to use this with the OE couplers from the Helix IC on the cold side, but they are fairly thin, maybe ~3.8mm. Ideally I'd get a new 90 degree coupler, but the dimensions are hard to come by. For you guys familliar with the Helix couplings, will using a 5mm bung create any boosting issues?

Thats what I like to hear. Helix couplers are a little thin for my taste. I wanted to make a meth elbow for the cold side of the IC. As long as the cutting tool makes a a hole much smaller than the mounting diameter of the bung it should be okay. Thanks for the feedback DZ.

So a small leak has manifested. Damn Helix couplers are too thin. Going to pull out the JB Weld next weekend.

I tried tapping a silicone coupler as well and ended up with a slight drip. Any idea if a silicone based aircraft/auto sealant will hold up to the meth?

Not sure, but I've seen JB weld do some miraculous things. I'm going to paste it on the outside of the bung, so meth technically will never touch it.
