Why such little boost on the 335? People are running what, 16psi no problem right?

The Trm car was running 10 psi. Not sure why that 335 was only running 8psi, but by the looks of those runs it would need at least 16psi to hang with that e36.

8psi IS Stock.. sooo..it would be the other way around, although not as drastic, if that car was running 15-16psi..

of course we don't know whether that car was actually on 8psi or just claiming that, and we don't know how fast the M is soo details need to be shared, and then a re-race

if the JB car was only running 8psi, then on 16 psi the results would be the other way around, ie, 335 would win

Umm maybe. Those turbos run out of steam in the upper rpm's it seems from what I have heard. equal psi I think the Trm car will easily win every time.

on a stock car, yes, they will run out, but depending on supporting mods, big gains are easily achieved. stock 1/4 traps are about 104mph, fully modded cars trap about 117-120mph.. so if he has the capability to actually run 16 psi, the results would be reverse Click here to enlarge

Stage 2 Trm cars make any where from 520whp-600whp on draw through mafs depending on the boost. 600whp has not been seen on a 335. Its just not going to happen. A 335 has no shot sorry. Kool cars, and easy to modd they can not hang with equal boost on both cars.

They do run out of steam up top and with equal psi the E36 would win but I still don't get why so little boost for the N54.

You should have told him to enter the contest so he would have a shot at getting one.

problem is that the run in the vid, the car didn't look like it had that much power. Thats why i was saying in that scenario, if he raced a stock N54, the speed at which he pulled away, was not consistant.. but since noone can say what the 335 was actually running.. i don't know.

What would a car with those mods make, and what would its weight be? A proper running Trm stage 2 car should make about 400+whp, and without driver 3225lbs. I think 335's are what 34xxlbs?

full mods, up to and including meth, the same, maybe 20-30 more. e9x weight in about 36xx i believe, and what about gearing, but i don't know how much of an effect that has here.

im not arguing to say the trm would be destroyed, but if in fact, the 335 in the video was stock, then you would expect a comlpetely different outcome, i would anyway, judging by how the trm car pulled on 335, it looks as if it was on stock 8 psi. Maybe it was, maybe it wasnt, is it 8psi or 8psi above stock? i could be wrong though. although i don't believe i am

I see, well, guess he was running on some stock map or something.

With just that exhaust and 8 psi he will be around the 290 whp range.

For some reason I thought the 335 made 285whp in stock form. I would think an exhaust would add more power then that with a tune.

Well it makes around ~270 stock. Thing is, he isn't really running a tune if it is just the stock boost map.

Why is that? Do 335's run a boost controllers to increase boost?
