    Affordable exhaust

Here is the new exhaust on my S65. 2 3/4", 304stainless, X-Pipe, and V-Banded. What I thought was reasonable pricing at $2500 from header back to the end of the car. I guess a couple hundred more with cats or race cats. Sounds nice cruising, idling, and WOT in my opinion. Seems to work really well, need to get some dyno graphs and vids to bring merit to the statement.

A performance shop near me. I believe they're going into production on these and the E39 M5. Snapped the shots during the install. My buddy had it done on his E39 last summer, he turned them onto me.

I think the Stock exhaust is 2 1/2, some companies do 2 1/2 some do 2 3/4. Not sure. Did a BMC Filter, Tune, and that full catless exhaust. I need to get on the dyno and get some numbers.

Weird looking "x" in that pipe. Why do it that way?

More of an equal merge, scavenging, and expansion for hot turbulent exhaust gas coming together across the X. Until we see back to back dyno comparison we cannot know for sure. Proof is in the pudding!

Definitely curious to see the results of that XPipe. It seems a lot more nontraditional compared to what we usually see.

    Keep us posted!

I love the fact it 2 3/4 over 2.5. I really wish it was a better X, i have an X i dont really like anymore, i dont think its losing anything, but its not really the BEST. I want ones that barely bend, kiss, and then continue on the way. kind alike this ones, but to much space i feel like is slowing down the exhaust exit

    Yup, 100% agree!

I wonder if there are any gains to be made between 2.5" and 2.75". On my E46 M3, everyone told me that upgrading to my current headers and midpipe that uses 2.5" ID was a waste of time and money. Well I pretty much debunked everyone when I realized I was crazy enough to actually try it. My dynos show that too!

It would be great to see a dyno comparison among stock vs. 2.5" vs. 2.75". Or even dynos comparing the power delivery between a couple different locations of an X Pipe. Then again, sounds like that's a lot to ask, haha.

for N/a, i would think it would need to be tuned to account for it, but Im specifically interested in FI, if it can drop psi by .5, id say its worth it

The X seems to be working well. It allows more exhaust gas to enter and exit the X. We are happy with it so far. We havent been abale to get two cars with the same tunes to do a dyno comparison yet though. We will keep you posted on results.
