    Tasers?

Anyone have any experience with tasers? Know which ones are good and would recommend?

If you're thinking of personal protection and to have something in the car I would suggest pepper spray. Easier to conceal, not as bulky, and you don't have to get close to use it.

Was thinking about that, what are the chances of it exploding in my car because of the heat haha.

why not get a CCW and carry a normal self defense weapon like a 9mm or 40 cal?

Some druggie on PCP with a knife mugs you, pepper spray aint gonna do $#@! but just piss him off.

Because if I'm drunk at a bar or something and someone starts something better to use pepper spray than a gun.

Being that it does come in aerosol cans they can potentially leak if exposed to elements greater than they're intended for. So yeah on a hot summer day you would probably not want to leave it in your car. I've had small experience with personal tasers. They are only as strong as their battery and yes they do run out of batteries so you have to have them charged to be effective. You have to be in close proximity to be able to use it, and it might not be enough to stop a big guy. One of my friends had it and they would screw around with it by shocking each other and eventually the bigger people were able to withstand it.

Certain states have made them illegal for consumer use like New York. And I believe that having one in your car is possibly illegal in every state. Need to do research if you're going to go that route.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about as well. Last thing I want to do is open the car door and get the impact. I believe they are illegal here as well. Just thought it's better to have some safety then none at all. I guess the consequences wouldn't be as be for being caught using one then using it to protect yourself or someone else in a dangerous situation. I've seen enough of those Russian road rage videos to know what can go wrong haha :/.

Thats why when you get a CCW, YOU READ THE $#@!ING MANUAL.

You are not allowed to conceal carry and be in the vicinity of any alcoholic beverage serving accomodations like bars or clubs. You can get arrested for carrying a firearm into a bar even if you dont drink.

Actually, I think it depends on the state. I have a friend who got his CCW in Nevada and you are allowed to have a higher blood alcohol limit than when driving I believe.
