BMW e36 328i track car build

    Hi all,

thought I'd put up some (many) pics of my e36 328i which I'm converting for track use. By track I mean circuit driving which is pretty common here in the UK. So I picked up a cheap 1999 e36 328i Sport in Techno Violet which had previously been in a small front end bump. As a result it came with an Avus blue front m3 bumper and was significantly cheaper than other ones on the market and being a late model was rust free.

So pics on the first day I bought it home:

    Thanks for the kind words.

Forgot to say I have two issues at the moment which are holding up proceedings. I have diff leak and an oil pan leak which need sorting before I continue with the project. Unfortunately with the large case diff I have, the whole rear subframe needs to be dropped. And for the oil pan gasket, the front subframe needs to be dropped also. As a result I've left the car for the last month or two.

Great build and great color. I have no idea why BMW no longer does techno violet, one of their best and most unique colors.

Thanks for the support guys. I was supposed to continue working on this on the weekend but had to help a friend fix his e30 318i convertible which had many issues. We ended up ripping an e30 touring apart to give us the parts that we needed.

They are quite common here in the UK, my friend paid 250 or $400 for it and it was running pretty well. I felt quite guilty for having to break it but it was needed Click here to enlarge

We're looking for a tidy coupe or touring to do an m50/52 or m30b35 swap
