Thumbs up How much does your E46 M3 weigh?

M3's are fairly light from the factory, but they very greatly from car to car. We were able to remove a ton of weight removing everything including the factory wiring harness, but the cage in the track M3, the widebody kit and the big wheels/tires and rotors added a lot of this weight back in.

Post up your weights if you know them. I'd like to see what various M3's weigh. I can't remember what these two cars started at.

The HPF Drag M3 is designed for one thing. To go fast in a straight line. Not only did we remove weight inside the car but with the lighter drive train we took quite a bit more mass off. It doesn't stop too well but that's what the parachute is for. Not my car, but I know of a BMW Motorsport E46 M3 chassis fully outfitted for road racing that was just a hair under 2300 Lbs. That's with road racing wheels, fuel cell, aero, all the bits. To make the car legal (minimum weight) for the professional class it was racing in, they replaced the driveshaft tunnel cross-braces with plates of lead. Seriously.

Most of the pro-level E46s and E90s were in the 2500 area dry, having to stay above 2650lb with driver.

Now a lot of pro series are monitoring cockpit temps, with A/C becoming mandatory as a result. That's added some weight....
