    E28's rear subframe Bushing

Long story short, my old man's E28 is making some noises from the rear subframe. My guess is the bushings are dead, so the plan is changing them. But there is a problem, a normal bushing removal is a REALLY hard thing to do, and these bushings were fitted in with some extra force (by me of course) so it's even harder.

My guess is @Matt@AUTOCouture knows the best way to remove them. My thought is setting a small fire Click here to enlarge but my small fires usually burn the whole neighbourhood to the ground.

Do you suggest Polymer Bushings BTW? I think they last much longer than normal bushings though they make the car much less comfortable, but since the car get used just a few thing a year, the comfort isn't a really important object here.

    Thanks

you can use poly bushings to replace the OE rubber mushy ones, a lot of people do it.

Burning them out is probably the best way if you dont have a press kit....but you need to bring the subframe to the ground to do so lol

Figured as well, but i'm lazy as hell so pulling the subframe out is the not so favorite option. lol

I don't have a press kit, but i think i can make one. the only problem is the diameter of the bushing's hole is 15 mm and i don't think i can find a screw with a diameter like that.

Fitting them in was not easy. Easier than pulling the old ones out though. The new poly bushings get the job done, but the result is a harsher ride than what i had in mind. That's not a biggy as the car just sits in garage for keeping the memories alive, not transporting.

The time isn't arrived yet. Matt said something about a S85 swap, i'll probably wait to see how it's going to be turned out.
