They look exactly the same but if u look close you can see that the Vanguard has a different type of welds , wich in my opinion look better then on the HKS. The sound difference can only be from a different setup inside of the muffler or the resonators.

On a weekend only car I'd go louder/meaner...i've put on about 1000km on this so far...a couple people have heard it including a shop that has mounted a lot of 335 exhausts and even they said that its the best mannered exhaust they've heard so far...

HPF is 43lbs, this is 61lbs, so 18lb difference...i guess it all adds up in the end weight reduction wise but if you're daily driving your car i'd say both thumbs up for the HKS...

HKS on the left and Vanguard on the right.

The mufflers are different, hence the completely different sound.

The Vanguard was more of a raw power sounding exhaust whereas the HKS was more refined.

Beauty vs Beast? I really liked the Vanguard, but had always wanted the HKS. I'm all about the raw loud over the top exhaust, but couldn't pass up the deal I got on the HKS. I offered a price that I thought the guy would reject, but he didn't. So here I am, lol.

Right, or it's just your mind playing with you. Heh. Nah I'm sure the mufflers could be different

Edit- I see they are different......interesting

How you consider, whether the hook on asphalt with this width of the tire will suffice me?
I considered 315/30R18, but actual width of the tire more than 325mm. It will rub. But a contact stain at height.
    Thanks!

Hoosiers only for the strip, no street driving on those man, too dangerous...I've got the Nitto 555R 275/40/17 for the rear...its got much better street manners...you shouldn't need more meat than the 555R Nitto on the street but I'll let you know how it turns out with them soon..picking them up from the boarder this weekend hopefully..

HKS is my favorite sounding system for the N54 other than Akrapovic.

HKS is the only company that managed to make the Renesis Rotary sound *AWESOME* I had a HKS Legamax on my RX8 and it sounded amazing. Of course, it didnt give me the +200ftlbs I needed Click here to enlarge

+230948093284 for the HKS exhaust. Ive installed several and fitment has always been SPOT ON. Never once needed any adjustment to line the tips up, no matter which end of the exhaust you started tightening from. The Vanguard well I couldnt say the same LOL

People $#@! and complain about its $1700+ price tag but you get what you pay for...a Japanese top of the line exhaust system.

Ive liked DIXIS exhaust too, but at $3000 for a set of rear mufflers (titanium), I guess I'll pass..

So no drone at all? You're running fully catless too, right? If you're coasting, 6th gear 2000rpm, how's the drone? This is our issue with autos! I was really looking at this exhaust but haven't heard one with an auto tranny. I'm also looking at the akrapovic one.

Little drone over stock and great sound. I sold it a year ago, but I was happy with it.
