Maybe Shiv found teh best single turbo manifold design for our cars? Looks like space and O2 sensor placement are the biggest issues. Shiv's design also keeps the runners at +/- equal length, which can't be a bad thing.

You couldn't pay me to put that manifold on my car. That's just nasty. The more I see from HPF, the more I am sure that I will not be interested in buying their kit.

wow some harsh replies in here. i guess it's expected since they wait a month and release something that looks like it was done overnight. i definitely like shiv's mani way better. it only has pros: equal length, 02's are fine, etc. HPF is not a small, low budget company. i'm honestly as surprised as everyone. hopefully (for them) they can make huge numbers, come out with a final product that looks professional and make this thread fall to the graveyard.

I think the whole idea was to make it like a twin scroll manifold allowing complete separation of the banks but still be able to use a non-twin-scroll turbo. I agree it looks very ruff. I would imagine this is just a working prototype to allow them to get the car running and revisions will be made before final. You would think they would just contact Steed Speed given the previous relationship though.

    For comparison...

...And it appears he did not have to replace the motor mount due to the position of the turbo. I think his design keeps the turbo from hanging too low.

I think the relationship ended badly. HPF decided to make a cheaper, cast manifold and started bad mouthing the SS manifold, so SS went and lowered the price for theirs below what HPF's cost.

meh, you guys shouldn't be surprised. hpf's 'engineering' has always stunk. rhd s54 turbo outlets, this mani, ecu connectors, meth failsafes, wastegate flex couplings, turbo selection, etc.

    see past the marketing.

This isn't very surprising considering the $#@! storm that has come to light over on e46fanatics.com in the last month.

Its really sad though, the way their brand has changed in the last year is pretty unbelievable.

Don't you think that is a bit of an overreaction to a temporary solution they employed on their manifold?

They are just trying to get it working, not actually selling that.

Guys, that is not what they are selling. Relax, they are keeping us informed. I doubt anyone else would even have the balls to show pics of the process like HPF just did because they would probably have to deal with comments just like this.

Before judging what manifold you will put on your car wait and see the final product. Yes, this is a hack job, but nobody is saying it isn't.

HPF has some ridiculously awesome products and you should be happy they are updating the community because if they didn't you all would be complaining about them going silent. They are screwed with some of you no matter what they do.

What? This is just a stupid statement.

Who else has done a RHD S54 turbo? Uh, nobody.

You all see a temporary solution and now you start bagging on them. On E46fanatics it is an HPF leg humping fest and deservedly so at times for how they have pushed the S54 platform.

How has the brand changed? That they are expanding to more BMW markets? Let's not judge them prematurely on the N54, ok?

I remember some stuff about this. They said SS manifold was too heavy so instead they made a cast manifold with less flow rate.

They changed it because it was heavy?? Are you sure that was the reason? That doesn't make any sense that they'd do it just because of weight...there's a good reason why that mani isn't light

I'm not really sure. There was a video about it and the Asian dude working in HPF was talking about how hard it was to install the manifold since it was too heavy and how the new manifold is easy to install and such. Also they said it will have the same flow rate as the previous manifold, but iirc Andrew@ar design said something opposite by judging at the pics.

I think all the stuff they do are customs and not kits.

Can you bring them here? would be really cool to have them here. Those dudes do everything but no one heard of them, that's the type of men i like (no homo).

@George Smooth are they local to you?

They read the forum but I have trouble getting a hold of them. I asked for more details about their S65 turbo and never got them.
