What's Your Guess: Vishnu Single Turbo System Price Tag

I'm curious to see what you guys think Shiv's single turbo kit will cost when it's released.

I think he can't price it too far north of the RB kit if he wants to sell many.Click here to enlarge

    $6K?

More than HPF. If it makes it out.

Edit: Going off how he's priced his products in the past. It will be a pretty penny.

Man $6k with the fuel control and having the single turbo market almost to himself as well as providing tuning for HPF thereby being able to control the only competitor's pricing artificially?

I had hopes HPF would help push this down but there will be natural collusion.

$6k I would proclaim this a huge value and applaud. I think you guys are looking at around $8k though but maybe Shiv will do some out of character and be aggressive with pricing. But history suggests otherwise...

It's a tricky thing. They need to go high enough to make some money quickly while they are the only game in town, but cheap enough to avoid damaging their reputation long term. I predict (based on their pricing history) that they go on the high side of things to lock in revenue now. Like $6000 for turbo, manifold, and wastegate. Maybe another $600 for a simple fuel pump/regulator upgrade. Then in a few months one of say 10-20 other turbo fabrication shops will offer similar hardware for maybe 50-60% of that.

It makes the most sense, everyone does it. Cash grab up front then drop it once you have to.

I guess the big elephant in the room is will that o2 sensor placement work long time too. Any EGT numbers yet at 20psi during say back to back 140mph runs? If it's staying under 900C then it's probably OK. If over I'd consider a redesign.

Nah I doubt they go that high. What do similar manifold/turbo/wastegate kits for other cars retail for these days? Last time I built a kit it was around $3500. ~$2k of that was the turbo itself. T76 QTrim FTW. Click here to enlarge

8-10k is my guess. It will be expensive until there are other viable running options out there.

as long as its the only option, and the fact its a large jump and more intricate than current options ( really only 1, RB) he will set the price high enough. Just like with the tunes themselves, once he has competition, he will defend the price, and then eventually lower it.

Im still convinced hybrids on a fuel system upgrade can produce competitive #s and have none of the drawbacks

Who will be next after Vishnu and HPF to offer turbo kit for the N54?

CP-E? Someone said Full-Race is developing a kit.

Yeah, I guess $6K is pretty conservative, but I really can't see it priced like an HPF kit... their prices are absurd.

It's just discussion, and the politics involved in the pricing are interesting to discuss as well.

I was guessing about the same amount. Probably right around where HPF said there introductory price was + meth kit+proceede.

I wouldnt be surprised though if it was higher in the beginning to atleast pay for all the R&D costs and then lowered once similar kits hit the market. He basically has the monopoly in the single turbo market. I wouldnt want to have production kit number one as there is likely to revisions along the way.

Im hoping that someone (cobb) becomes capable of tunning these single turbo setups so I can build my own instead of buying a full kit from a vendor. Its usually cheaper that way. As this becomes more tangible, im becoming more reluctant to sell my car for a Z06.
