I dont know how a dct misses a gear though? and it doesnt sound like it over revved. and once they were neck and neck, neither pulled on the other.. With all the DCT worth 10mph talk, I would have thought it would walk away at least some, in every gear..

^LM it does you know this come on already lol....ive experienced this same scenario 100 times both with a blower and fbo's......with a blower the difference is even more obvious.....thats why you bought the DCT, because you knew it was the better performer lol

its not gonna be an advantage man, find me a stock 6mt and ill prove it. any mph gained from less time shifted is negated by the RWHP loss.

I chose dct because its an auto and i fell in love with the downshift rev-match blips Click here to enlarge

    Uhh do you guys READ?

DCT has a rear section exhaust (worth nothing) and remap

6SPD has a full de-cat exhaust and remap.

Left car has 30+Whp more tune or no tune.

You can very easily bounce it off the rev limiter in manual mode, ive done it many times

Probably just means hitting the limiter. Amateur mistake, slide it into D5 from manual and perfect upshifts every time...

I raced plenty of manual M3's, you will win easy especially if you start from 1st. The manual has a gearing advantage once you hit third but by that time the DCT should have opened up a 2-3 car length lead.

I keep hearing about D5, do you still get the best performance, but it shifts itself? When does it shift, 8100 or 8400? I may need to try this..

IDK about DCT's, but in SMG you could get better performance by shifting manually instead of putting it in S6 mode.

D5 is what you want, yes, best performance and more consistent than S6 which you can only use with traction control off anyway.

    It shifts right at redline.

Only if you shift before it does automatically or take your foot of the gas.

It's different now, auto mode is best. The manual mode on the DCT isn't as responsive as the SMG manual IMO.

I did like 6 back to back pulls with my EVO. When in D5 I caught every last 100 rpm without tagging the limiter. A good car length when used that way versus me in S6. This is important and 5-10whp with my tuned car.

When you hit the rev limiter this car is DONE, it closes the throttle bodies and soft revs before recovering. A disaster.
