    Well done Sal/the Evolve team.

I understand the advantages of correct sizing a charger and by that I mean not pushing it to the max. Not only are you reducing mechanical stress but dramatically reduce thermal loads; Sal has already stated how sensitive the S65 is to temps.

Also using a FMIC is the way to go, loads more efficient than a water to air charge cooler. Really happy to see this and hope this is how Sal and the team go about the S85!!

Evolve will soon be a one stop shop for the E90/E93 or the E60's.

Just release this kit already so you can get on with the S85 SC kit...

    Jay

I wouldn't blow any of these engines with out charge-cooling, just asking for trouble. Sal stick to your beliefs! Sell a few less kit and add the reliability. One blown engine will make all the others jump all over you.

    Hi Jay,

you mean intercooling Click here to enlarge

I know what your getting at here and it's to do with us releasing a non intercooled kit.

Our non intercooled version will have a maximum of 4.5 PSI. Now, what we did was to wait for below freezing conditions when we tested this as temperature at the filter (which is ambient in this setup) has a profound effect on boost. As the inlet temperatures to the blower reduce, boost rises.

So, under below freezing conditions we achieved 5 PSi. So, above this you will be hard pressed to achieve this and be around 4.5 PSi.

At this boost level you are producing very little heat and as long as we can maintain low inlet temps and low EGT's it's not such a bad idea.

However, the problem is that people can buy Rotrex pulleys direct and swap them out and increase the boost level themselves. This then does pose a problem. Running 6 PSi and above non intercooled is simply not a good idea. You should see where the temperatures inside the plenum go!

yeah ive ALWAYS prefured intercooled setups, but low pressure non cooled kit isnt a bad idea....

now Re the intercooler im so glad you guys choose a FMIC.... much better recovery times, im really glad you went this route........ The pipework takes time to get right but once you get a really good fmic setup i think its pretty unbeatable and far less more to go wrong.... simple really is better imo.... Can you talk about the bypass valves your using in this setup sal?? Also another point Re the intercooler is we can run meth as charge cooler :-) Not a fan of using it as a fuel but as a charger cooler 49% meth - 51% water it really makes a difference, some of us blown z4m guys run them and were gaining 40rwhp in the powerband.... Whats your feeling on using meth in this way??

Non-Intercooled + meth + bump boost is an upgrade path I suppose... I wonder how much more boost you could run with 100% meth with like ten m1 nozzles? Click here to enlarge
