Roll on Race - Stock SL65 Black Series versus stock Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R is a very fast car in stock form. However, its main strength is going from a stop with its all wheel drive and dual clutch transmission allowing it to get a jump on most cars. From a roll, it isn't exactly unbeatable in stock form as this race with an SL65 Black Series shows. The GT-R in the video is said to a be a 485 horsepower version so likely a 2008-2010 model. We would like to see how a 2012 would fair in its place but the SL65 would likely still dominate it.

Fast cars, both of them.
Not sure why the face of the driver was made unrecognizable, since this was clearly shot on an airstrip...

I really dont know what the surprise is from that video?
I have seen a tuned GTR being smoked by a stock SL65 BS.
It is never wise for a BS to race from a standpoint. There is just too much torque that you will lose traction and give your opponent a big advantage.

The GTR actually does well in that compare, it lost but its impressive to be that close IMO. Black Series FTW
We stay swingin...

i saw this video posted on MBW . the OP was posting it to supposedly shut the mouths of those who like the GTR . if anything , the GTR had a pretty good run at it for a car with about 120 hp less and 1/3 of the price tag . i would like to see the same race if the GTR had a tune and a few bolt ons

02-01-2012, 02:50 PM #13Any mods to that beast you said you own? I like MB's a lot. Lots of MB's putting rapings on many. I'm afraid of all newer cars in the sense of not being able to figure out things on my own. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

There is, it's called boost. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

And you can't boost a bigger motor? Eventually displacement is the limitation, no matter what. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We haven't even seen the M275 V12 with some big, big turbos.

But we have seen some big boosted VR38dett and they all KILL any M275. maybe someday M275's potential can be unleashed, but today isn't that day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Uh, ya, because of running high boost. You push that much air into an M275 and it will RAPE that little V6.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'll take a 6.0 liter V12 on pure potential.

VR38deTT with 13 psi makes 540hp and 466lb-ft. Modded GT-R's with 25psi make 800whp and 650wtq. With 35psi you are in 1300whp range. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Stock M275 is boosted to 20 something psi, right?
-
02-02-2012, 03:08 AM #25
No, 600's are around 11.6 psi stock. The 65 is 22 psi stock as rated by MB but boost reading show that is just a spike that tapers down to 17 or so.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Regardless, 35 psi on some big ass turbos on an M275 is going to flat out abuse the same amount of back pressure on the GT-R.
We have never seen the V12 really pushed like it can be.
