Cool Check Out What I Drove Today...1100 hp anyone?

Ok...So I was a little misleading. Not quite "drive," but it does have 1100 hp and 1300 lbft and it has a gas turbine engine. C16? psssh... JP-8 baby! So, not really BMW, or even car related, but I am pretty stoked about it. Click here to enlarge

Awesome! I still think flying is one of the best feelings ever! My neighbor let me control his Grumman Tiger once and I felt so free....

Are you working towards a pilot license?

It may have not come off manly but sometimes you have to survive to continue being manly. I just don't trust that thing.

It has the latest generation of Martin Baker ejection seats, same as in the F-35. 0/0 capability and all that goodness. All you have to do if you get in trouble is punch.

Damn, he has a Tiger? nice.

Kinda, military doesn't care if we get licenses, though I could just take the written and get one. I wish you could fly ish like this when getting a private. Cessna 182s are crap by comparison. I will be a winged Naval Aviator in a couple of months though.

I still love the smell. Haha. Nothing to crazy on this flight. Power-on and landing pattern stalls, some spins, high-G warmup maneuvers (~ 5.5 G sustained), some positive G inverted dives.

I don't start the maneuvers stage till next month or so depending on weather. Then it gets real crazy. Click here to enlarge

Haha those are sick planes. Never been in one. One of my pop's old farmer friends does tractor pulls though...he has that motor on his favorite tractor. Runs on Nitro now though. Click here to enlarge

Flying it again tomorrow, going to do some higher sustained G maneuvers, seeing as it has the same G onset rate as most fighter jets it should be fun. Hopefully no blackout, can't wait.

Canceled due to weather....not sure who's idea it was to put the cradle of naval aviation where it rains every day, but it wasn't one of the better ones to come out of the Department of the Navy
