Kelly Odell's 2000 Hp 4x4 Sand Drag Truck Choice 1 Motor Sports
What happens when you screw a 2000hp Top fuel dragster engine on a 4x4 Sand Drag chassis?
There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works

Talk about a RAW off-road experience!
Must be running Methanol. Those motors on real "Top Fuel", nitromethane, @ 70psi make around 8,000HP. I'm sure you knew that, just didn't want people thinking that Top Fuel run 3 second 1/4 miles with only 2,000HP.

My brother was bigtime into that stuff for years. He did the sand Drags first, and then progressed into the stadium shows that were sand/mud. He was on the stadium tour for several years, all around the country.
He basically ran a TA/FC with a transfer case that converted it to 4WD. The guy in the video is likely new in that ride, as he seemed pretty timid to "get into" it. It could also be a slight tire sizing issue where the gear ratios are not correct. Most folks dial in a slightly higher gear ratio for the front, to keep the steering active once the car hooks up. During the initial pull, the rear tires are spinning (actually all 4) and everything is cool. Once the rear tires "hook" you see the car often gets slightly loose. That often can be cause by the rear tires growing, changing the gear ratio, and pushing the fronts. If the fronts are not equal, or pulling harder, the steering is not responsive and things get interesting fast.
This guys either has a full cooling system hidden in there somewhere, or he is running on Alcohol. Unlikely for him to keep it running that long (actually driving it back after a run) on anything other than alcohol without melting it down.
One cool thing that these cars can do is drive over water. They have enough power that they hydroplane over the top and the scoops have enough "traction" to maintain a speed well beyond what is needed to keep the vehicle hydroplaning. They can literally drive over a small lake and it is makes a very cool show.
