don't think that's true...software itself is fine, updated DATEN files are all that's necessary...if you've setup only INPA (ediabas, ncs, inpa) then you probably haven't tried setting up DIS/SSS/GT1 right?

INPA is a pain to set up. I got it all installed last spring, was able to diagnose some codes I was trying to work through. But it wasn't worth the time I put into it. It would have been better to just take it in to a shop.

Most of the software is pretty safe, but it is very powerful and you can make significant changes to your coding before you've realized what you've done. Just be careful with it, and don't click anything unless you're sure it is what you want to do.

Yes that is true on disk 2. I checked this morning to see that it was missing 36. I had to download Progman via torrent *search string BMW-SSS-3-1-Progman-V32.torrent*.

One other thing to note, is under Ediabas 6.4.7 and INPA 5.02, you can delete "SSS-Progman 3.1 and Changes.part02. That file was uploaded to the directory mistakenly. I have verified all other .iso files and .exe work.

It may be older, but it's good for vehicles up until 2010. Also reading some of the stickies at a certain point it doesn't make sense to get the latest and greatest as some of the features aren't included.

This thread was also a good read http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=561237 *some doesn't apply but you get the basic idea*.

    SUCCESS!
    Injector swapped AND coded in!

I discovered that I had 2 injectors miscoded: injector 3 and injector 5.
Also, they idiots at my local stelaership did not install the decoupling element (seal) for injector 1. That's the the cylinder I've been getting misfires on!

I took an HD video. Will upload shortly. Need to put the car back together

I am putting away the tools and I'll be uploading video in a bit.

The full DIY will come later. I want to take my time to do a proper write-up.

Here is the video for the impatient:

Thanks! Yep, coding is indeed very easy, once you get INPA and working and once you get the correct files. I am going for a test drive now and see if the misfires are now gone!

+1. I just got back from a test drive. I switched to Cobb Stage2+FMIC Aggressive and the car is rock solid! Also, my misfires/stubles upon cold start-up are now gone too! I love it!

I had mine done in the summer. On my case notes I noticed that they didn't replace my seals on the injectors. I bet they're some mistakes with the coding too.

I had the suspicion that there would be a bunch of cars out there with miscoded injectors. Also, someone reported that the dealership forgot to install the decoupling elements on all 6 of his injectors. That decoupling element is about 2-3 mm thick. This means that the injector will be protruding into the combustion chamber further down and possibly sit closer to the spark plug. ...and we wonder why we are getting misfires left and right...
