    Turner Motorsport releases oil cooler upgrade kit for BMW 335i vehicles with the N54 twin turbo 6 cylinder - $899

    There are a lot of N54 guys that like to track their car who will likely be interested in this oil cooler upgrade from Turner Motorsport. Turner states this upgrade is just for 335i's with the N54 as it is listed as fitting the 2006-2010 E90, E92, and E93 335i including the Xi. Pricing is $899.00 for cars that have the factory oil cooler and a retrofit kit can be added for an additional $530 for cars without the factory oil cooler. Full details listed below.

    The N54 engine equipped E9X 335i is reknowned for its excellent performance and the ability to custom tune for more horsepower. Unfortunately, it is also known for oil cooling deficiencies that can reduce horsepower output and potentially compromise engine longevity, especially when driven enthusiastically or when boost is increased. To help maximize the power of your BMW, this kit adds a second oil cooler behind the kidney grills in addition to the factory oil cooler. This not only increases the cooling capacity, but more than DOUBLES it! Our kit provides the factory oil cooler with much more airflow then what is available in the fender wells.

    What is included?

    Billet aluminum oil filter housing adapter - CNC'd, anodized black
    Setrab Oil Cooler Core – simply the best brand in oil cooler cores available. Most of the competition use far inferior cores, resulting in higher temperatures and sometimes catastrophic failure. One of our customers previously had a competing oil cooler literally explode on the Nurburgring, splashing oil on the tires and track at over 150mph!
    Anodized aluminum mounting brackets + all necessary hardware
    Oil lines made from lightweight stainless braided hose, with black/nickel colored swivel fittings.
    Retrofit kit available for those who do not currently have the factory oil cooler. This includes all the OEM parts needed.

    Its the AR, same one I have that is installed in my kidney grill. It doesn't really suck though, i've seen good results from it. My car is only a street car though so thats probably why. I'm sure the AR OC behind the kidney grill isn't the best set up for track use.

    What is the BTU on this oil cooler ? Canton racing sells kits for less than half. It would be very easy to make one of them work:

    Ive installed several of these and by far they have been the best at keeping temps down. After a few 20-150 passes the oil temps climbed to 250-255ish, but after cruising for 30 seconds they dropped right back to 230.

    not sure on the street, and personally i haven't run this one OC, but a few people complained that it wasn't sufficient in hot conditions at a road coarse...at the same time my oil temps with the stock oil cooler never crossed middle and i've really hammered my car on the street...definitely can't hurt adding it but i'd probably go for a twin setup with appropriate ducting if i were heavily hitting the road coarse

    Thats the thing I use it for road track purposes... it's quite a different situation... lots more breaking and slow parts just after high speed parts of the track.. it's a killer.. driving skills also impact... but this cooler is just not sufficient to keep oil temp in control...
    And for the street not really neccesairy to my opion....

    +1 this cooler is ok for spirited street driving, but on a road track it's just not enough. So if you plan to trsck your car, you're better off getting a proper setup from STETT or from Evolution Racewerks (my choice). Replacing the small stock oilcooler with a lager and better core is a better option than this AR Design OC.

    doesnt the ar oc connect to the oem oil cooler so wouldnt itstill be better over stock??
