CES Motorsport's New E36 Turbo Motor Mounts

These mounts and the manifold are beautiful. It is stated that even GT40R series turbos can be used. So turbo size is not as much of a limitation, seems then we should be seeing huge horsepower S50 and S52's more often?

Finally got around to getting some quality turbo motor mounts designed. These allow for huge clearance with the steedspeed manifolds we will be incorporating into our new T4 flanged turbo systems...

That manifold is amazing! Very pricey though. If I had the loot, it would be on my car...

Seems like a good price for something like this.

How much are the other manifolds? I would figure the 666 manifold isn't much cheaper.

    Its somewhere around 1250.

"Good price" is certainly relative. They charge something like 600 bucks for a s2000 turbo mani.

The s2000 is a four cylinder though and also has 5 dozen Japanese tuners tackling it.

I'm really liking CES's new rear subframe they are making for the e36 m3. Its supposed to be able to handle 1500hp. Hmmmm I will be having my rear subframe bushings replaced sometime in the next few months. If the price is decent I may go with it.

So you contend that should effect pricing in such a drastic way?

Incorrect. BMW manifold prices are inflated because we are retards and bid the market.

What does tuning have to do with manifold pricing anyway?

I content that the supply for the Japanese motor is greater due to the amount of tuners competing in a lower priced market that is associated often with tuning.

It took a while before we had good BMW manifolds and the BMW turbo market is smaller. You don't have every kid going "OMG VTEC TURBO."

I did not mean the tuning, I meant the amount of people modifying that motor and the source market for it. Not like we have any Japanese turbo manifolds on the market for the S52.

You highlight the BMW tax... the material itself rarely if ever warrants the cost. That goes for almost everything in the BMW tuning sphere.

I would imagine it's cheaper than having a custom stainless tubular made. I do beleive this manifold would really only benefit turbo application above 550whp, for flow reasons. But that's just me, and I have no scientific data to back up my claim. Nonetheless, it' looks cool, and seems to be very well designed.

My t3 spa manifold is able to flow 700whp. The great thing about the Steedspeed manifold is it takes less psi to make more power. The thing I dont like about it is that its nearly impossible to do over the subframe with it with decent size piping. I would hate to have under the subframe piping on my car.

Yeah, that's what I am saying...better flow for the higher HP setups. I would imagine on setups like ours, we would get into spool at lower RPM's with the steedspeed. But is spending twice as much worth a few hundred rpms of spool? Not IMHO...

Material doesn't warrant cost for almost anything in the world, that is not how markets are made.

It used to be 1250/1300. They raised the price.
