    Direct TV vs Dish Network

I currently have Direct TV but I keep getting the good deal $#@! in the mail for Dish Network. I called Direct TV to see if they could hook me up but all they could do is send me a free DVR HD receiver but then it would add another $10 DVR fee. If I make the switch to dish I can get the best package for $79.99/month for (12 months), Free HD and DVR service, DVR for 1 room plus HD for 2 more rooms. I can also get 3 more regular receivers for 3 more rooms, so up to 6 rooms. Even after the promotions are over with Dish Network my bill will be about the same except I will have the DVR HD, 2 HD, 3 regular and Cinemax. Seems like a no brainer but I love Direct TV. Has anyone here had both? Is it worth switching to Dish?

I ordered DTV when I moved in here and I'm happy with it. I have it fully loaded and it's pretty cheap. $80

    I wouldn't switch.

Only other service I would consider over Directv would be Verizon FIOS. It just isn't available in my area.

I don't want to switch, but they should at least give me the free HD and DVR service for life that they offer new customers.

I've always insisted in having FIOS the past few years but since I've switched, I'm fine with DTV. It's almost as good but it costs me less than half price ( both fully loaded).

Ok I just ordered Directv after having Dish Network for over a decade.

They have a $200 Visa gift card offer plus if you have Bank of America and use your BOA card to order you get $125 cash back. So, I just got $325 for signing up. In other words, 6 months for free.

They have an awesome deal going right now where you get NFL Redzone and NFL Sunday Ticket for free so that is why I signed up.

What is lame is that to get their genie upgrade you have to do at least a two room install. I don't need two rooms with the service, just one. They charge per extra TV on top of a receiver fee. Sneaky, sneaky, bull$#@!.

Whatever, just went with a regular DVR and this saves me an extra $15 a month.
