This has been a crazy project spanning 4 shops 2 states and 5 years! Neel from Apex will be coming this next friday to do the final tune, i will make a small video and take alot of pics and i will do a new write up on the project and this is the only forum i will be showing it in.

    Jacobs,
I think you hold the record for the highest hp (non s54) e46...
but watch out im gunning for you Click here to enlarge

    any updates after the tune?

p.s. its not really a 323i anymore if it has the 330i crank... but still non s54 all the same.

Ah this is not my thread, and I'd rather not say just yet. Not that I'm trying to hide anything, its just this paticular unit has never been used on a e46 (non m) and I will include it in my build thread when I post it.

I would b wary of using a ems on our e46's that has not been used. I tried a variety of piggybacks and flashes and hybrid piggy stands ones such as the one u r eluding to, all of which failed miserably! I even tried aem standalone and it never worked right! Just something to think about. Also will this mystery unit control drive by wire? How about dual vanos? Does it have traction control? if you are saying no to alot of these things or even I do not know, then I would take a look at the few proven to work systems that are available for our cars. Such as vi-pec 88, pectel, motec, pro-efi is looking for a test car for your make and they have done acfew e46's all ready. In order for me to help u I need to know what ems u r thinking about pm me if u want to keep it quiet for now. Oh and my advice is pectel if u were wondering it is flawless and the support Neel provides is dang near unmatchable!

my setup does not control vanos or drive by wire, its already installed and working. I absolutely agree with you on the some of the suggested ecus including the pro-efi but maybe Im partial to it being from AZ Click here to enlarge

courious, which piggybacks and flashes have you used that failed, and what about the aem and others didnt work? This info might help others looking for alternatives not to try.

you are leaving a decent amount of power and torque on the table by not controlling vanos. By the sounds of it you are running a pro efi, is this Jason?
